Community Helpers Program Grande Prairie

Peer support training for adults and youth that enhance helping skills through training on mental health topics & resources. This program helps to improve mental health and well-being of youth by reducing the stigma of mental illness.

There are certain people you go to when you're struggling. It might be stress, it might be sadness, it might be a mental health issue. These people are our friends, neighbours, teachers, family.

The training we provide will ensure that these helpers know what formal resources are in our /your community. Formal resources include things such as health agencies, counselling services and crisis centres. Through our program, people will be even more effective at helping others struggling with mental health issues.
