Diner Deluxe

Amazing service and even better food! The servers have personalities and make you feel very comfortable and relaxed. The atmosphere is very cool and unlike anywhere else. I have never had anything that I didn't enjoy there. All of the items are delicious.

Went for the 1st time this week. It was packed but we were still seated pretty quickly. Food was amazing! Very flavorful, varied options and generous portions. The coffee was good too. Definitely going back. Waitress was really nice as well.

Pancakes so yummy you don't need syurp! The service was great. I'm losing my voice and ordered a tea, our server asked if I wanted honey and took really good care of us. Good portions and flavor is on point. Only downside is the lame Calgary liquor laws where you can order booze before 10.

The first impression and, ultimately, the first visit are absolutely, without question, the deciding factor on whether you will return to an establishment. The service here was cruddy; my server barely acknowledged my patronage and made minimal eye contact or conversation. My BBQ Pulled Pork Hash Skillet would have been quite tasty if it had been plated with the absence of a bed of gross day-old potato cubes - read my Yelp review for more details. The giant pancake was delicious and filling! All that being said, the décor and ambiance of this joint is retro and very inviting, especially with the help of the beautiful wood-defined patio outside. Sadly, I won't be returning for the food.

My husband and I are exploring Calgary so we decided to try something different for our breakfast. We looked for popular places on Google and Diner Deluxe came up on the top list so we decided to dine in. The place is relaxed, casual and has an indie feel to it. Food are tasty and good portion for a heavy breakfast. I found the food pricey when looking at the menu but when the food has been served, I'd say it is reasonable. We came around 9:00 AM on a Friday and the place get full that people have to wait a bit to get seated. Worth the wait though.

Met a client here...great choice! Had an omlette, it was huge and delicious! Client was pleased too! Prices are very reasonable and the place is lined up all the time busy! So go line up and find out for yourself why it is so good! What a novel idea....great food, generous portion sizes and decent prices!! Don't miss out.

I'm never dissatisfied with Diner Deluxe. If the wait is too long at OEB, head to the other end of the block to DD. Wait staff is always busy but they are always friendly, and the food is always great. It's a little more expensive than Denny's but you're supporting a local restaurant, not a multinational chain.

We were hungry so the portions hit the spot. The ambiance was invigorating.
The spices and flavours are not often paired with breakfast. It was a pleasant change.

The food was just okay, ordered the classic breakfast and nothing special. I get it, they're busy, but if I wait that long, the food has to be amazing. I'd rather go to OEB or other places.
Plus this time around we were seated at the patio and 2 different waitresses kept passing us and we got no service for menus or drinks. We finally got up and asked the guy in front if we can get some help and he said they'll see what's going on.
Another ten minutes pass and another couple gets seated beside us and finally a waitress comes BUT serves them first. I lost it and interrupted that we were there first and have been waiting forever.
They were nice enough to try to accommodate us after by handling some of the bill, but first impressions are huge and that was terrible.
