Darren Kirby has always had a camera but did not take photography seriously until later in life. Serendipity played a large part in motivating him to dive in head first and ever since he has become fanatical about always having a camera on hand and ready to shoot. His special interests are cityscapes, architecture, landscapes, events, and portraiture, but he has never pinned himself down to any particular photographic pursuits; rather preferring to try anything and learn from the experience.

Darren does not self identify as an artist per se, but rather as someone who simply documents the world around him, a building, a skyline, a city street and its inhabitants, or perhaps just a storm passing through. A simple shutter click allows him to stop time, and preserve a moment that otherwise might be lost forever.

Darren has had his work published in various magazines, travel guides, and promotional posters. His list of clients includes Hasbro Canada, Qualico Developments, the City of Edmonton and many others.
