H&R Block

Called to book an appointment last week. The lady I spoke to repeatedly asked me to repeat what I was saying as she was "having one of those days" and that it was "the end of her day". I clearly stated, over and over I had not filed my taxes yet and would not be filing at my appointment, only that I wanted someone to check to ensure I was doing the right thing. I advised I had done this last year without a hitch. She said fine and booked the appointment.

I show up to my appointment and Deanne? Started getting things ready for my appointment. Saying something about how it's all new staff there this year and how terrible the staff was last year was. Then asked for my ID and started making up a tax return folder. I advised again, I was not filing my taxes, just wanted to make sure I wasn't messing things up.

She looked at me like I was stupid. "well why would we check your taxes if you aren't filing here? Are you using the h&r program?" No. I am using simpletax​. "well that doesn't make any sense. Why would I pay over time to my staff if you're not using our program or filing here?".

You know what, I have no clue. But you didn't ask those questions when I called to book the appointment. This location of h&r block did it last year, with no issues. You don't want poor reviews? Have customer service and ask questions prior to booking the appointment, where I clearly stated what I was looking for and don't waste people's time.

I never tried to hide what I wanted. I stated it when I called and booked the appointment.

Here's your bad review. Hire the old staff back. They were fantastic to deal with.

Dropped off my t4s and my last job gave me the wrong t4 so I left them there and was planning on coming back with my last t4 to get my taxes done. Angela gave me a call and said she has found my t4 online and printed it off for me. Which was great but unforseen circumstances wouldn't allow me to come back to airdrie. So I phoned and talked to Deane (supposedly the manager) and she asked me why I brought taxes there in the first place. Very rude on the phone. I know your employees took time out of their day to try and help me out but obviously they had free time and besides that's what you pay them for. Won't go back.

Who ever is bitching has salty balls. Been here for the last 4 years, some returns more complicated than others with things like grants, EI and tuition receipts. Never an issue, and they are always very friendly.

Called last Saturday to make an appointment to get taxes done. Took half hour trying to understand the girl on phone and for her to correctly spell my name. Finally got booked for Wed at 4:00. Wed morning get message on phone that our appointment has been cancelled due to and I'm quoting here " their tax girl is not in today". They apologized for inconvenience and can rebook us for next Thurs. Seriously? ?
By looking at the other reviews I'm not far off in saying " go somewhere else for your taxes"
