We had an amazing time, much better than what I expected, could have spent more time there but it was cold and people that we were with we're freezing, despite the benefit of the fire! My wife and I will go back to see it at night in a week or two.

User

We drove to Edmonton for soccer tournament and because it is a family weekend we decided to stay another night to explore Edmonton and I’ve been seeing this Ice Castle advertisement on Facebook, pictures are look amazing I said why don’t we go there? And we did, we are all had big eyes and a big Awe!!! My daughter was very very excited because it reminds her even my self the Movie “FROZEN” very very excited taking pictures here and there ha ha ha we had lots of fun!!!! We will definitely go back again if we get a chance.

User

Very cool. First time going with our family and the kids loved it. My kids loved seeing Elsa and Anna as it was very magical for them! loved the slides. Got in fast and wasn't overly crowded for a long weekend. Will definitely be taking the kids back, hope to see it at night.

User

This year was the 3rd Ice Castle I'v been to with my boy. The very first was awesome in 2015/2016, last year was amazing 2016/2017 and this year 2017/2018 I have found to be the best yet. With 3 slides it was an amazing place to take my 4 year old. He LOVED it! I had so much fun and this was the first castle my parents (78 and almost 80) have gone to and they enjoyed it, not as much as my 4 year old but they enjoyed it as well. The ground was well managed so they didn't have any trouble walking around and felt very sure of their footing. Thank you Ice Castle Edmonton for making this 3rd castle so amazing. I hope there will be a 4th next year. Thank you

User

This was our first time attending the Ice Castle. My husband I really enjoyed it!! It was amazing!! The lights and colours were beautiful, the corridors were so neat to walk thru, the fire was great to warm up at and the slides were fun lol. We were there at 5 pm so we got to see how it changed from the daylight into the night light. Highly recommend that time!! I’m sure we will be back next year to experience it again.

User

This is our second year at the Ice Castles and this year was such an improvement!

The maze-like corridors were so fun to explore (my kids played hide and seek and loved it).

The throne and fountain and animated light walls were so beautiful.

The slides were fast and fun! So incredibly designed!

We took my parents for their first time and they were in awe. It was like being in another world, they said.

One thing to know; they don’t allow drinks in the ice castles. We didn’t know til we got there, so we all had to chug our hot chocolate. But I suppose it makes sense, for preservation purposes. Just would have been nice to see that on the webpage.

User

Our little family came last night. It was a wonderful way to spend Valentine's Day. We are had fun on the slides. The lines were very quick. We spend around 45 mins exploring all the area. Our favorite spot was the ice throne, it was awesome. Well done, we will be back next year

Use the code FREEKID18 to get free admission for children during the weekdays, when you purchase an adult ticket. Apply the code during the checkout process. Thank-you to raisingedmonton for posting the code.

User

My brother and I and his children attended tonight. We had read all previous reviews with people complaining about the cost before attending, but after purchasing tickets. We had our tickets in advance but even if someone was paying full price at the gate, it would be more than worth it. A person can not go to a movie for the cost of this evening out. Lots to check out for old & young alike... We stayed 2.5 hours utilizing the warm up areas when needed. Once in the gate, your ticket price covers all. Absolutely beautiful! The work that the city puts into hosting this event for the public is obviously above & beyond! One of the best family evenings we have spent out!

User

I had a fabulous time at the ice castle with my family. The day we went there was outdoor yoga and that looked like a ton of fun!! I liked all the slides for the kids and the fire to warm up. I absolutely loved the ice chair! The only thing I would suggest would be more small ice carvings to look at as you go around the ice castle. Other than that, Edmonton ice castles is one of the best winter festivities.

User

Great event. It’s winter time so be prepared. Get your tickets in advance. Know that this is Edmonton so it could be 20 below tomorrow and 1 above the next. Loved the wall of lights, the slides, and the throne. I hear that it is great to go as the sun starts to set and the sunlight starts to flicker against the ice.

User

Always a special experience for my family and I. The only thing we

Missed from years passed was being able to look out from the top of the castle and look around. We do love when there are levels to the castle. Three slides were excellent!

User

We prepared and planed for our ice castle trip - as we knew it was going to be cold -20°C. We had all the jackets, snow pants and gear. It was a bit confusing on the directions inside the castle but after a few rounds we figured it out. The colours at night are the best! The slides were good and felt the hight restriction was not warranted- our son was 2 inches below the stick but could easily have done the big slide (and I do insurance risk management for recreational activities). The fireplace was very lacking with only 1-2 sticks of wood. It was cold! We spent 45 minutes as there was not enough warm spots. Some music would be good.

User

This was our first visit to the castles and we were in awe! It was so cool to see the work out into them. Although it was really cold once we got in and started exploring inside we didn't really feel the cold anymore. My only suggestion is have a person at the ice chair to take pictures for families, it wasn't a bad thing to ask someone else to take a family photo but I think the line would move a little faster. Also I did feel it was overpriced. Cost my family of 4 $67 and we were there less then an hour. There should be a family pass available.

User

This was our first visit and we thought it was pretty neat to see. Our daughter loved the slides and wished there were more tunnels and caves to explore but still had a great time. The lights were beautiful and the staff were very friendly. We found it a bit expensive for what it was considering it cost us $70 for the four of us for an hour and a half outing and driving an hour and a half to get there. Definitely something so to see if you havent but prob wont go back again next year unless the prices are a bit lower. Nice place to visit.

User

Not as big as we imagined, but the kids thought they were in Frozen! They loved the ice slides. We picked a great time to go whilst the winter festival was on, so lots of other great things to keep the kids entertained once we were out of the castle. Highly recommended.

User

It was an awesome experience. Before I go I thought the admission fee was quite expensive, but it could be a unique experience so I took my two boys there. My friend suggested me not to bring the sled as he had it no use when they visited last year due to narrow and bumpy pathways inside the castle. I brought it anyways and I was so glad that I brought it. I bet they improved it. I could assess to almost everywhere and no difficulty pulling the sled. We went on a Saturday morning, weather was beautiful and not too cold, we were amazed by just walking thru the tunnels with beautiful icicles hanging above. My boy loved all 3 slides. They were no long line up so we played many times. For the big slide I could even played with my 1 yrs old sitting on my lap. We spent 2 hours in there and had a lot of fun. Worth to go. Hope the area can be even bigger next year.

User

I really enjoyed the castle this year. As always, beautiful to enjoy and see. Loved that there were 3 different slides available (and one for toddlers). However, the one slide with the lights should have a sign before the entrance that there was a height restriction. It is really slippy getting up only to be told to turn around because the kiddies are too small. It was narrow and hard to pass around. The ramps to go up the slides were definitely slippery. I loved the carved out chair and overall experience!

User

Our 4 year old was insanely excited to go to the Ice Castles and we drove 2 hours to take him. We weren't aware that if you wanted to get in to the castles in a timely matter you should buy tickets in advance. There was us and another couple in the tickets to purchase line and in the time we waited in line it would have been quicker to return to our truck, warm up our kid, buy tickets online and go in the other line. When I said something to an employee she wasn't concerned and didn't overly care. It's really unfortunate the staff was so unpleasant and it was so unorganized. The ice castles themselves were small but beautiful. With that, our family will not be returning.

User

I thought the ice castles were amazing but very poor service. We went with a friend and his young daughter. After about 15 mins her feet were frozen (she was crying) so we asked to go warm up in the pavilion. The lady at the exit told us we could not come back in if we left and said to us we should have come more prepared. It costs $75 for 3 people and a child only to be told there’s lots of other things to see if we can’t make it through the castle

User
