Kidz Corner Day Home

I'm a daycare provider with over 15 years experience offering full and part time child care in my home. I am dedicated to the children in my care!

My name is Julie and my goal is to provide your child with a fun, clean, safe, comfortable environment where they can play and learn with guidance and loving care while you are working or attending school. At Kidz Corner Day Home we learn through play and offer a vast variety of activities and toys that will spark their imaginations. I have taken courses in Child nutrition and Child Psychology that have benefited both myself and the children in my care.

I help prepare the children and teach them the things they need to know when entering kindergarten. Some things that are taught, but not limited to, are letter and number recognition, letter sounds to help with reading, printing, cutting skills (and other fine motor skills), learning their phone number and address and the independence of doing things for themselves creating higher self esteem. Along with this, we enjoy doing circle time where we sing songs, talk about the weather and the days of the week, and read stories.

I am a firm believer that outdoor play is a necessity in every child's day! Therefore, when weather permits, we spend as much time as we can outside. I have a variety of toys and structures in my fenced yard, we go for walks around the neighborhood and sometimes go across the street to the green space and playground for some extra fun.

I serve organics, whole grain, whole foods to the children in my care. I believe a proper nutritious diet is needed for children to grow and learn during their busy days therefore I take pride in serving the best foods I can for the kids. Lots of fruits and veggies are offered at every lunch and snack to help those growing bodies.

I am located in a quiet neighborhood in the NW side of Airdrie. We are an animal friendly daycare with 3 very friendly dogs who have been raised around children of all ages. We also have frogs in a tank that the children love to watch. I feel it is very important for children to be around animals so they can learn how animals need to be treated. It also teaches kindness and empathy not only towards them but towards others as well.
