Hello to all our loyal customers and friends of Legend Hockey & Sports,
It is with sadness that we announce the closing of this shop effective June 16, 2017. We did our best to keep this shop going but it in the end it became too difficult for us to do so.
We do not want to leave those of you with 10 packs and/or our loyal customers high and dry, so we will be setting up our shop in a home based setting (Parkland SE Calgary, My garage will become a mini Legend!) in the ne...xt couple months and will be up and running by the start of the hockey season.
We would be very happy to continue to provide you the best sharpening in Calgary! We will provide a pick up and drop off service for those in the area who cannot make to our new location. We will also continue with our jersey services, so please let us know if your team is in need of high quality custom uniforms.

It is with sadness that I announce the sale of our hockey shop. Due to our other full time business and family reasons, we have made the difficult decision to put the shop up for sale.
Alex and I have put in almost two years of our time, dedication, heart, and love of sports in making this shop become reality. We love hockey, sports and serving all the wonderful customers and people we have met since we have been opened, which makes this such a tough decision.

Our Coach/ Mentor of the week has been nominated by Laura MacLellan.
Matthew Bacon of the Southwest Cougars Matthew is a young man who gives not only his time and energy but his true passion and joy of the game. He comes out to early morning practices, or even during a snow storm.
... His enthusiasm, patience and true love for the goalie position comes through every time he steps on to ice to help out a young goalie. My son, Isaac always looks forward to when Matthew can come out to practices to give him tips of the trade, encouragement and one on one lessons.
They are both all smiles and fist pounds on the ice and that attitude follows my son into each and every game and practice. Matthew is truly an amazing young man.

After 6 Months of operations we have learned a lot and one thing we learned, is that our hours of operation needed an adjustment. So Legend Hockey & Sports has modified its hours, effective February 11,2017.

This week's @legendhockeyandsports Player of the Week is; Jonathan Brackman
Johnny has been playing hockey since age 5, and is currently a member of the Southwest Cougars. Johnny always is giving 110% on the ice.
... When in the offensive end, our Player of the Week is like a Tasmanian Devil, fore-checking teams into submission and he constantly applies pressure in the corners until he gets the puck. He can either set-up scoring chances or, he gets into position in the slot to either receive a pass or pick-up a rebound. He is always in position and ready to compete every game. He wears the Assistant Captain A and is always encouraging his teammates to pass the puck, set-up plays and to work hard.
Johnny is in Grade six at Woodlands school. He is an avid golfer who broke 90 for the first time this summer.

This week's @legendhockeyandsports Manager of the week is Karin Henderson from the Mavericks! She has managed an Esso Minor Hockey contending team for the past three seasons! With her son Karson’s team most recently capturing the banner a few weeks ago.
She enjoys creating memorable off ice experiences for the kids. From Team dinners and Group activities to Food Bank Drives and acts of community service. Every year comes with different challenges and rewards and she is always... thrilled to be a part of it all!
She is very active in the Mavericks Hockey Community with being a Manager for 8 seasons. She was the recipient of the Mavericks volunteer of the year 2012/13. Karin has taken on other numerous roles including Age group coordinator, Tournament coordinator and Evaluations volunteer scheduler ( just to name a few)

Never in our 9 years on the ice have we experienced this kind of personal service from a skate sharpening shop. When you can rush in the door straight from the gym, throw your skates on the counter and fly out the door to pick up kid #2 from dance and Mike calls you minutes later to confirm how your kid prefers his edges you know you are at the right place.
