Wife & I stopped in for a bite after a day in the city. We were early evening, so we nearly had the place to ourselves.



The ambiance inside was pleasing, in the NOLA theme, with soothing jazz music filling the air.



In terms of service, it was quick, and our waitress made pleasant conversation.



The food was amazing. Nicely spiced, invoking creole cooking at its best (that you can get outside of Louisiana), with the portions being deceivingly large.

What can I say. If I ever win the lottery, I’ll build a luxury apartment above the restaurant and come downstairs in my robe and slippers for food. There isn’t a weak link in the menu, but I must give a nod to the beef tenderloin, the Bon Ton Poulet, the mussels, and the two jambalayas. NEVER had a bad experience cat LP.

Did I mention the beef tenderloin?

Went here with my husband for the first time last night. Service was outstanding, more than enough food on our plates to finish!! And the food was amazing! Would recommend the Peach Melba cheesecake for dessert, it was like and creamy and absolutely delicious

We had a reservation and were immediatelt seated. The server was attentive and we received our drinks right away. There were several good choices on the menu and both my husband's and my dishes were excellent. My only sadness is that i didn't have room to try any of the desserts!

This is the second time we have been here over the years. Nothing but great food and great service both times. The alligator, chicken and chicken and sausage gumbo are delicious. Will definitely be returning.

The food is really good! I tried the alligator and I wanted more lol perfect spice with everything and it made me feel like I was actually in Louisiana. Staff were great as well!

The amount of amazing food you receive makes your dollar go further. The staff and atmosphere are wonderful!

Stopped in for the first time today for lunch, food was top notch, but what I really liked about this place was the service!! Our waitress was very knowledgeable of menu and helped us make the right decision on what we would. Enjoy . Towards the end of our meal we were greeted by one of the owners who chatted with us for a minute about our experience being there for the first time and comped us a dessert on the house because we spoke so highly of the food, definately check this place out, great food and amazing service... Thank you to the staff of Louisiana purchase for the very enjoyable experience!

My husband and I had a dinner date just now and the service was superb!! The food was well spiced, serving sizes were well-portioned, the ambiance great and our waitress and the other staff were very friendly and conversant (not the talkative type that comes every few seconds).

We will definitely be back!!

Louisiana Purchase is the place to go for a fantastic dinner with fantastic service. Every time we go the servers are astounding. Tonight Josh was circling the room and checking on everyone and put a huge smile on our faces. We always leave feeling happy and full. Koodos to you guys for running such a wonderful establishment.

It was an amazing meal. The chicken and waffles were spot on and the cherry coke ribs were falling off the bone. Highly recommend this place

First time dinner and had the best experience thank you!!

Checked this place out with my Wife and two daughters after hearing about it ftom a close friend. Really loved the warm cozy ambiance, staff was excellent and the food...my god it was delicious!! We had the swampstick and crispy crab cake to start, kids had basic chicken fingers and fish and chips. My Wife ordered the crawfish and shrimp étouffée, and I had the salmon shrimp crawfish boudin. Both were amazing!! Everything was perfectly spiced and flavours were outstanding!! We look forward to trying out other dishes here soon. Thanks for the great service and food.

The food is excellent and the service is terrific. They've raised their prices though and $15 for an appetizer is pretty steep not to mention $30 for catfish. Dinner for four (one child and one very hungry teenager) with two alcoholic beverages was just under $200. We will be back but only on special occasions.

Overpriced, overcooked and undersized portions. $120 for two of us. Catfish was tiny and mussels too. Nothing like other premium eateries. If it wasn't for the good company of friends I would have been better off going to McDonald's. Save your money, don't order the swampstick- the one skewer of alligator is tiny and unremarkable.

I have been here a few times over the years, and had an amazing time there last year on my birthday. But, when I tried to book this year they told me that they required a $10 per chair booking fee (to be applied the meal the night of). I have worked in the industry in the past and know large parties are a challenge, that's why I tried to book 2 weeks prior, but am insulted and disgusted by this NEW policy, as it wasn't in place last year when I booked.

Sorry that this long time Edmonton institution feels that it needs to punish paying clients, but no matter how good their food is (and it was) I will take my future business elsewhere. I work where I deal with people from all over North America and the world and have recommended the Purchase to them, and have been called back and thanked for directing them to such a great place. I won't be doing that either any more.

Sorry the new ownership doesn't understand service and hospitality, and sad at the decline of this Edmonton institution.

Good food but overpriced. Serving staff was good but awful manager not very family friendly at all. My six year old has more manners!. It was immediately stuffed down our throats that an 18% gratuity would be applied to our bill if we are a party of 8 or more. It was like a pleasant experience would not be at the forefront at this restaurant but instead.."remember, we are going to charge you this no matter what and no exceptions" . We understand that may be standard practice but it is the delivery that matters and we did have some valid questions regarding children and the inclusion of them in a party of 8, if they are 2 and under. Well, it was like watching a 3 year old throw a tantrum. He was defensive and he even walked away from the table like a spoiled brat. What grown man does that when dealing with customers in a restaurant??! Josh handled it very poorly and provided no other resolution other than to appear to gesture he was done with our group and storm off, then yelled back to us that he was taking the 18% off gratuity off from our bill. Truly unbelievable. We would have gladly paid the gratuity had it not been for his poor explanation and sass. I will definitely not be back here and do not recommend it to anyone. Perhaps Josh had a bad day, but clearly he should not be in the hospitality industry and dealing with humans.

Service was great(Saturday) food not so much. I felt ill part way through the meal and stopped eating my wife eat but was ill throughout the night.

My son was fine we all ate different things.



Usually when i get sick its either poor prep or too many extras in the food (msg)



Also why the hell is cilantro in the food, this is cajun food!! And its is not listed on the menu as an ingredient.



Never again!
