My Tiny Town Description

About me

I graduated in Russia with a Master Degree in Cognitive Development for children with special needs. The main focus of my specialization was developing cognitive functions in children such as attention, perception, memory, thinking, speech and etc, and facilitating learning about surrounding environment. In Russia I worked with children with special needs for several years and then I move to Canada. My experience in Canada includes working with children with different ethnic backgrounds as a caregiver and volunteering in a center for special needs children.
I am very honest, responsible and creative person.

For over a year now, I successfully run a very active, fun and loving day home. Our day home program is designed to provide high quality developmental experiences.

Physical Development Activities

For children of age under 6 develop motor skills still occupies a large part of the child's development. Physical development (mobility) allows the child to begin developing new intellectual abilities.
Obstacle courses are fantastic for gross motor, motor planning, visual perception, critical thinking, problem solving, and speech and language skills. The activities often require gross motor skills such as climbing, walking, running, crawling, jumping, balancing, and maybe even rolling, spinning, and swinging.
Singing songs, playing rhythm patterns and movements help children to improve their language skills, auditory perception, sensory-motor processes, attention and memory what give your child ability to better learn in future. One of the part of my activities to include developing the vestibular system what coordinates eye and head movements, helps to develop normal muscle tone, impacts a child balance and helps a child to coordinate both sides of their body together.

Sensory Development

Sensory play includes any activity that stimulates young child’s senses: touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing. By providing babies, toddlers and young children with a wide range of experiences which involve their five senses, we develop these strong brain pathways. Pathways which will help them to learn at preschool, through formal schooling and onto adulthood.

Social-Emotional Development

Building a strong social-emotional foundation as a child will help the child thrive and obtain happiness in life. They will be better equipped to handle stress and persevere through difficult times in their lives as an adult.

Art and Craft

This kind of activities engage multiple brain areas simultaneously and improve bilateral coordination between the left and right sides of the brain, improving fine motor skills, promote rich social interactions.

Using Montessori method

In my day home, the working material represent for kids by trades. Developing life skills. The exercises in Practical Life provide purposeful activity, develop motor control and coordination, develop independence, concentration, and a sense of responsibility.

Healthy structured routine.

With a lot of information in this age, it is very important to allow child's brain have a rest. For this reason, our daily routine include nap and quiet time. Healthy food is very important to raise healthy child so, fruits, vegetables, dairy and grains make a majority of our snacks, and for lunch we have nutrition home cooked meal. I even provide a separate menu for children with allergies is of high importance. If weather permitted, we love to go out, where I provide varieties of activities for my kids such as a scavenger hunt, a soccer, a car ride, tag, play with sand etc.
