Nait Description

We’re here on Facebook Monday to Friday from 8: 30 a. m. to 4: 30 p. m. MST, excluding all statutory and NAIT holidays and will respond to your inquiries during those hours. Like, comment and share your posts! We love interacting with our students, staff and the community.

NAIT students earn degrees, diplomas and certificates focused on the career fields of business, IT, engineering technologies, health sciences, culinary arts and environmental management. In addition, NAIT is Canada’s leader in apprenticeship training for skilled trades.

We were at the Skills Canada Competition for Auto Services and it was fantastic. The experience these students get is such an advantage. Thank you to the organizers and judges. It was a great day!

We attending Nait's open house yesterday for the first time. My daughters, my husband and myself felt it was a very informative experience. We have one daughter who knows what field she wants to enter and we received valuable information about taking her studies at Nait. We have another daughter who is still on the fence about what she wants to go into and we had very informative talks with several instructors and students in many medical fields. The teachers were very helpful and we were impressed by how much the students seemed to genuinely enjoy their classes and what they are learning. The hands on approach to teaching at Nait really seems to make the classes more interesting and easier to learn than other institutions we have looked into. All in all a great experience and we hope to have more of a future for our daughters at Nait.

This is one best kept secret for renting a pool facility.

We have rented the NAIT pool for the past 4 years for our son's birthday party.

Staff is FANTASTIC and friendly, always a great time for the kids!

User

So excited to have my daughter attend after my husband and brother and mother and several uncles attended !

User

One of the best post-secondary institutions you will attend. As a leading Polytechnic in the Province of Alberta it offers some of most up-to-date training by leading industry experienced Professors/Instructors in their field. Recommend anyone to choose NAIT as their first choice or second choice if anyone is thinking of furthering their education. Even to those that have University training to give it a look at future career training!

I'm just getting set to start one of their programs this fall and have had to make a few phone calls since I'm so clueless lol. Everyone has been amazing and patient and helpful, and everything processed so quickly. I'm so pleased with the customer service. These people are great! Can't wait to start my course

User

I love this school and all it’s amazing amenities.

There are so many opportunities to get out of class help ( I am upgrading right now to get into the course for my dream career). I struggle with physics sometimes and the study lounge has helped tremendously!

The people at NAIT care that you succeed and they are very active in the process. This is my first semester here and I honesty love it !

The campus itself is also built beautifully , I particularly like the NAITrium and how the study lounges have what I like to call “leave me alone” pods where you can sit at a desk and the walls surround it so you’re not bothered by the outside world LOL!

Thanks NAIT!

I learned a lot from my woodworking classes at NAIT. What's great about it is that my instructors with many years of experience in their respective industries teach you the tricks of the trade.

User

Great school most of the teachers care and want to see you succeed and will help you the whole way through if you ask! Couple of the teachers need to step their game up a bit

Best instructors and best lessons plans ever. I really learned a lot about my field and perfected my craft. Nait is the best for hands on learning and if you want a job they give you hands on experience.

I previously went to NAIT and had a great experience however this time around not so much. I found that everybody I talked to regarding registration as time was tight to get my transcripts in were very grumpy and had some attitude. When asked what information my school needed to provide that wold be sufficient to prove I completed a pre-requisite course and if I got my transcripts before NAIT did if I hand delivered them to them where I would go. I let them know I had completed the course and my finalized grade on my transcripts was 88%. I got responded with "Then why can't ADLC fax us a document saying the course is complete with your final grade?" I found this very frustrating as this is not even what I had previously asked and as well my teacher was not sure what they would require. I then was told NAIT needed an official letter stating my current grade from my teacher. When I said I would get that faxed they then told me "Please contact us tomorrow so we can confirm if the document faxed can be used and it we require anything additional." Every time I called or went onto the online chat I just got ran around in a circle. I went on this online chat and called to find out what would be sufficient so me or my teacher would not have to guess. Nobody really seemed to want to try to get somebody who is eager to get an education in. I get NAIT has standards that they need to follow to accepting students but the attitude that I received from many of the over the phone and online chat associates today was ridiculous. So me and my teacher are now guessing on what is appropriate to send to wait another day to see if it's sufficient which is why I contacted in the first place. It really has me questioning if I even want to attend this school now. I am thoroughly disappointed and if I wasn't so stubborn personally I really would feel like NAIT was trying to not help me but push me away from being accepted or getting an education. Not only was this frustrating but it had me questioning my choice in school.

User

I am upset that since I am technically an audit student, they will not classify me as a full time student, even though I am registered for a full time course load. This is affecting my student loan payments and interest.

User

Terrible terrible customer service/support.cant seem to understand people have a life to live and like to not place you on a list for school when they said they have.. what a joke

User

So, I applied at 7:30 this morning for some courses that I had recieved money for a grant for, and by 4:00pm ALL 9 of them had been dropped because I HADN'T PAID WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME. Are you serious??? I found this out because after work (yes I had to work today like a normal human being), I had finally had time to log in to pay (and this is when I finally had information regarding how to do so because of the grant, you know, because I have to follow rules in order to receive said grant) and this is when I found that all my courses have been dropped! I called a support number to be told that I didn't pay within a reasonable time (9 hours apparently exceeds said time frame). I was also told that if I "don't have the money, I shouldn't have enrolled". For real? You are the LEAST user friendly institute I've ever dealt with. And your website is beyond deplorable. You should consider working on that. Seriously. Also, I'll be calling to file a complaint.

User

Please be advised that NAIT DOES NOT support students with DISABILITIES. I was in a program this past year and they kicked me out because my disability would misread peoples reaction. I got the help I needed as I am now a client of People with Developmental Disability. But instead of allowing me to bring the outside resources they were looking for to remedy the situation they just permanently expell me without even hearing my side when they told me they would do so. Craig Skelton the head of security is a liar and a bully. Please when attending NAIT DON'T let his power hungry ways harass and intimidate you. Plus he got fired from Calgary police so I'm sure that speaks volumes.

User

I took my first year electrical here and the course was run good. But when it came time to write my branch exam I wrote it and passed. But did not pass? Apparently my school marks were not high enough and they could have said no you can't write the exam, which I would have been fine with. But to let me write and pass just to fail me after is a joke and a money grab.

User

I took my electrical first year here. I had a terrible experience. Most instructors suck. Not very informative. I went to Lakeland College in Vermilion and apssed every single year. Here's a fact: Lakeland College has a higher success rate. They teach everything and get handouts for practice. I feel like they care and they stay late after school for extra help. Not everyone learns the same. So that early exit thing ain't for everyone. Will never go back to Nait for courses.
