Signed up for new student intro special and have been trying a new class almost everyday! Teachers are friendly, classes are not overly crowded, hot yoga is hot :) but also warm yoga available. Lots of classes throughout the day with 2 different studio. Prana Yoga is clean, relaxing and perfect. Highly recommended.

Everything about Prana is beautiful - from the warm welcome on my first visit, to the cool lemongrass towel you get at the end of your practice. It's a Friday night and I'm so unbelievably zen that all I wana do is curl up on their comfy cushions in the tea lounge and chill. Best yoga venue I've tried in Edmonton!

Just before I left command, my good friend Sara McNeill taught a yoga class to the 120 soldier tank squadron I led, and I was first exposed to the power and potential of yoga. As an officer in the Canadian Army and combat veteran, I have what some typify as a high-stress job. Fitness is mandatory in my profession, but when in staff jobs, it is often the first thing to go. I'm an early-riser, and in August 2016 I began practising sunrise yoga at Prana five days a week. My initial intent with this new routine was to improve both my balance and flexibility, and I achieved that. However, I found that regular practice was excellent for both my core and my overall strength levels. Most surprisingly, the mindfulness of yoga and the power of my breath struck me, and help transform my work week. Every day, I look forward to greeting the sun at the end of my yoga session, and can deal with the most challenging situations at work with ease because of the grace with which I begin each day at Prana.

I used to think that Prana Yoga Studio was an amazing place until I had an awful, but eye opening experience after a morning class and what made the experience even worse was the Prana Yoga Studio owner's less than sensitive response to the situation.

After a morning class that I attended, it was clear that the instructor and a male student were completely enamored with each other and instead of continuing their budding attraction outside of the class they kept it in the room and at full volume after the class ended. At the time, I had family visiting from out of town and I can't tell you how much I was craving just a quiet peaceful moment from it all, which is what attracts people to yoga, right? Truth be told, I went to yoga that morning with the express intention of finding just one peaceful moment.

After about ten minutes after the class had ended, I slowly came to the realization that there would be no peaceful few minutes for me with this yoga instructor and her adulator, so instead I got-up out of shivasana and while packing to leave, I asked the instructor "I thought yoga ashrams were supposed to be quiet?" It was clear that I interrupted her enchantment with the male student and she abruptly responded "your hour is up, the class is over." I was completely stunned with this yoga instructor's lack of sensitivity to her students. I let her know that I was going to let the studio owner know about my experience, her lack of sensitivity and I told them both to enjoy their party as I left the room.

Before I could raise my concerns though I received an email from the Prana Yoga Studio owner, Leila, stating "there was then a serious emotional disruption of good will in the studio when your anger and swear words were expressed toward the teacher in front of students. We would like you to hear and address our concern about the way you communicated with the teacher this morning. A communication of this nature is considered unacceptable so if there is a second incident please be aware we may need to suspend your participation in classes at Prana."

OMG, the yoga instructor after hearing that I was reporting the experience beat me to the punch and instead of being truthful she completely fabricated what had occurred. I did NOT at all swear at this instructor, nor was I disrespectful beyond my inquiry about the quiet consideration that most other yoga studio's, except Prana, practice.

I would NOT recommend Prana Yoga Studio because while there are good people who work there, the bad attitude starts at the top. The studio owner, Leila, very quickly responded to her dishonest instructor, however, her response to me was not as quick nor was there any satisfactory resolution. Instead, she stood by her less than honest instructor and while it took some time, I cancelled my membership.

I was not at all provided any apology for this awful experience and instead it was made clear that the instructor had more credibility than I. The studio owner, Leila, does not practice understanding, empathy or compassion towards others which was very clear in her response to me about this awful experience.

By far the best yoga studio in Edmonton. Besides the beautiful space and clean setting, the entire staff here is the friendliest. Each teacher is extremely accommodating to any of your needs or concerns. You can tell everyone here loves their work and it comes off in their teachings. Hands down the best yoga studio my husband and I have had the pleasure of finding here in edmonton. Highly recommend.
