Reviews
Haven't you always wondered why Alberta does not yet have a provincial lichen? Now is your chance to vote for a lichen that represents native grasslands and grazed rangelands...Xanthoparmelia! Kudos to Dr. Lysandra Pyle for nominating this species that represents the land we love!
Road trip to Great Falls, MT for the Society for Range Management - International Mountain Section fall meeting! Highlights included visiting the Charles Russell museum, measuring our height next to some big bluestem, a productive and amicable annual general meeting (we voted Yes to our bylaw updates!), listening to excellent research talks on the biology and management of invasive annual species (Medusa head, cheatgrass, ventenata...we mean you!) and Dr. Fred Provenza wrapped it up with “Nourishment: What Animals Can Teach us About Rediscovering our Nutritional Wisdom.” Lots of good information, networking and socializing! Kudos to Allison Makoutz, Jon Siddoway, Tracy Kupchenko, Rick Caquelin for a well-organized meeting!
RRI will be there!
