Wow! I was able to get in at the last minute and what an experience! Everyone, staff and clients alike were incredibly friendly and had a great sense of humour. The professional services were second to none. My cut and colour by Michelle are fantastic. I am not from Medicine Hat and Calgary is closer for me for salon visits. However, Michelle at Red Velvet is the only one to touch my hair from here on in! Thank-you so much ladies!'

We LOVE Amanda!!! She can totally relate to my daughters & I and does amazing things with our hair!! Red Velvet also has amazing pricing, which I can't say for the other "high end" shops I've been to in town. So happy to have finally found a great hairdresser after living here for 4 years!

Very disappointed in the service. The second time I ever went to the salon, I called and spoke specifically to Kat to book my appointment. I told her I worked at 2:00 that particular Saturday and she said it'd be no problem, she could fit me in. But to be sure, I came with my hair wet from the shower. I went to that appointment thinking I'd have my hair done when I left so I only did my makeup for work. I sat and waited over 20 minutes before I asked the receptionist if Kat was going to be much longer? She went to check and said that she would be another 15-20 minutes. That would leave about 10 minutes for my hair cut. The girl was apologetic but I never talked to my actual hairdresser. I had to rush home, try and put my wet hair up in order to get to work on time. I was kinda miffed as she could've called to give me the heads up to reschedule. Then, giving the benefit of the doubt, I called yesterday, made an appointment with Kat again. I was there 10 minutes early and was told by the receptionist that Kat was running 45 minutes behind. Some kind of colour emergency? Never talked to my hairdresser again, got a second hand apology from the receptionist. I find it completely rude that my time as a paying customer is clearly of no importance to the salon. Someone could have called and explained the situation and given me the option to not leave my busy house to be on time and come later or to reschedule. I'm wildly disappointed. I've never "rated" anything on Facebook but felt compelled to share my two very unsatisfactory experiences.

These girls are amazing! I was in the salon almost every day leading up to my recent wedding. They have the best staff, services, and quality in the business! I didn't need to look or cooridnate anywhere else to prep for my wedding. And the best part of all was that I didn't need to stress about looking like a beautiful bride on my wedding day because they made sure I could relax and I 100% trusted them and their expertise and confidence! Nicole and Kole travelled out to Elkwater to make sure that myself, my 6 bridesmaids, and my mother and mother in law were wedding ready. We had a great time with them and cannot thank them enough for making us all look amazing! I can't recommend Red Velvet Hair and Body Bar enough as a salon in general, as well as your one-stop shop for wedding prep!

My hair has never been this beautiful. I have red, corkscrew curly, corse hair. I wanted to grow it out along with my bangs but always had trouble keeping it healthy. Kole suggested Living Proof hair care products and booked me for regularly scheduled visits. My hair is INCREDIBLE!! She explains how to properly care for my hair and I have purchased the tools for blow outs, the proper products when I want my hair to be curly and I just simply love my hair. The atmosphere is like you are in a home with your friends, there is a selfie station to show off your hair and every other service possible. I would recommend the salon to anyone. Actually I do!! I love telling people especially when I recognize someone with the problems I used to have. I have even sent my better half to her and she has transformed his hair! I went in to get my hair touched up and buy a new blow dryer and straightener and other products I no longer owned... On top of the great conversation and the extra long scalp massage..They gave everything else ALL to me for free. Honestly... The team at red velvet have always been such a great place to go. I have traveled many times to receive their services... But nothing... And I mean nothing could top the care I got today from you guys!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I LOVE the dip polish! So perfect for my busy Mom life �. Lasts 5 weeks with NO chipping ( even through washing dishes, laundry, diapering etc). I have had so many compliments on my nails and I love them�

I love my nails! They're the best I've had yet, and the tech was so awesome! I can't however, say the same about the rest of the staff that was there, it may have been a slow night but professionalism is still important, at one point I actually heard "oh they're in the other room they can't hear you" as I continued to listen to they're touchy personal conversation from the other room clear as day. I will absolutely come back to see Riley she was great! And didn't seem too annoyed by my indecisiveness!

I had a wonderful experience with Kole at Red Velvet she knew exactly how to make my hair healthy and glow! She gave me excellent advise on Color and styling - I would recommend Red Velvet to anyone, everyone is extremely helpful and friendly.... Loved it; Thank you �

I couldn't thank you enough for what you did for me today. I recently lost my home in the Fort Mac fires... I went in to get my hair touched up and buy a new blow dryer and straightener and other products I no longer owned... On top of the great conversation and the extra long scalp massage..They gave everything else ALL to me for free. Honestly... The team at red velvet have always been such a great place to go. I have traveled many times to receive their services... But nothing... And I mean nothing could top the care I got today from you guys!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I LOVE the dip polish! So perfect for my busy Mom life �. Lasts 5 weeks with NO chipping ( even through washing dishes, laundry, diapering etc). I have had so many compliments on my nails and I love them�

First visit today and am extremely happy with my cut and colour by Olivia! I love it- She did a great job and the prices are really fair. I will definitely go back and would definitely recommend!

The professional services were second to none. My cut and colour by Michelle are fantastic. I am not from Medicine Hat and Calgary is closer for me for salon visits. Very disappointed in the service. The second time I ever went to the salon, I called and spoke specifically to Kat to book my appointment. I told her I worked at 2:00 that particular Saturday and she said it'd be no problem, she could fit me in. But to be sure, I came with my hair wet from the shower. I went to that appointment thinking I'd have my hair done when I left so I only did my makeup for work. I sat and waited over 20 minutes before I asked the receptionist if Kat was going to be much longer? She went to check and said that she would be another 15-20 minutes. That would leave about 10 minutes for my hair cut. The girl was apologetic but I never talked to my actual hairdresser. I had to rush home, try and put my wet hair up in order to get to work on time. I was kinda miffed as she could've called to give me the heads up to reschedule. Then, giving the benefit of the doubt, I called yesterday, made an appointment with Kat again. I was there 10 minutes early and was told by the receptionist that Kat was running 45 minutes behind. Some kind of colour emergency? Never talked to my hairdresser again, got a second hand apology from the receptionist. I find it completely rude that my time as a paying customer is clearly of no importance to the salon. Someone could have called and explained the situation and given me the option to not leave my busy house to be on time and come later or to reschedule. I'm wildly disappointed. I've never "rated" anything on Facebook but felt compelled to share my two very unsatisfactory experiences.

These girls are amazing! I was in the salon almost every day leading up to my recent wedding. They have the best staff, services, and quality in the business! I didn't need to look or cooridnate anywhere else to prep for my wedding. And the best part of all was that I didn't need to stress about looking like a beautiful bride on my wedding day because they made sure I could relax and I 100% trusted them and their expertise and confidence! Nicole and Kole travelled out to Elkwater to make sure that myself, my 6 bridesmaids, and my mother and mother in law were wedding ready. We had a great time with them and cannot thank them enough for making us all look amazing! I can't recommend Red Velvet Hair and Body Bar enough as a salon in general, as well as your one-stop shop for wedding prep!

There are no words for how happy I am with my hair! Olivia saved my hair for my wedding and Kole was the most helpful person in the city when I was having a break down about my hair. They helped me on very short notice and made my hair match perfectly to my extensions! These ladies are amazing and the salon has a fantastic atmosphere.

Red Velvet is hands down the most incredible salon I have ever been to. The second I met Kole I knew she was MY hairdresser. I've only been lucky enough that she has also become my friend. My hair has never been this beautiful. I have red, corkscrew curly, corse hair. I wanted to grow it out along with my bangs but always had trouble keeping it healthy. Kole suggested Living Proof hair care products and booked me for regularly scheduled visits. My hair is INCREDIBLE!! She explains how to properly care for my hair and I have purchased the tools for blow outs, the proper products when I want my hair to be curly and I just simply love my hair. The atmosphere is like you are in a home with your friends, there is a selfie station to show off your hair and every other service possible. I would recommend the salon to anyone. Actually I do!! I love telling people especially when I recognize someone with the problems I used to have. I have even sent my better half to her and she has transformed his hair! Thank you Kole and Red Velvet Salon, you're the best of the best!

Red Velvet Hair and Body Bar is an absolutely amazing salon; we are so lucky to have them here in Medicine Hat. Every time I go there, I leave feeling beautiful and confident. The staff is exceptionally skilled and always so welcoming. Red Velvet is also a very community minded business that is constantly giving back to the city of Medicine Hat. They are kind enough to sponsor the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Queen and Princess during their reign.
