Beginner Knits: Sexy Slippers (Aug 25 & Sep 1): Caught your attention? Okay, so maybe slippers aren't all that sexy... but they're a great project for learning a lot of new techniques. And they keep your feet warm, too. Cold feet are definitely not sexy, right?

How gorgeous is this Stargazer Shawl?! It's knit in Leizu DK by Julie Asselin in colourway Adelaide. Stargazer Shawl was designed by Holli Yeoh exclusively for RCY. The pattern calls for worsted weight yarn but it also works well with DK weight. This shawl is perfect for cool evenings in any season!

Visited the store for the first time today and absolutely loved it! I wish I lived closer but hoping I can come back soon or I can shop online. Looking forward to starting my new projects.
Thank you soooooo much for all the explanations and all the help you gave me everytime I go. I'm a very happy customer😊
Thank you RCY for so patiently teaching Knitting 101. Not only am I learning how to knit I’m understanding knitting. You have given me the confidence and support to begin a project. Sincerely thank you for everything. Wool be back!
Stopped in on a recent trip to Edmonton. Had never been before. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I bought several projects; some gifts and some for me and I saw lots more I liked. I will be making this a must stop shop every time I come to Edmonton. Love this shop.
RCY is my guilty pleasure. The yarn is squishy and beautiful and has price points for every desire. They're knowledgable, always willing to help and on top of all of that, the staff is genuinely kind! Thank you Barb & Cynthia and special shout outs to Sheila and Tracey for continually rocking my yarn world!
RCY is my favourite. More than a yarn store, a place to lose yourself for a while and imagine wonderful things with delightfully playful yet knowledgeable and helpful staff. Love all of you there! I travel 700 km because I truly can’t get the experience anywhere else
My happy place. The selection is ever changing with a variety of decadent wools. I’ve always thought if you’re going to put that much time and effort (and sometimes tears) into a project then you ought to invest in the best quality wool and this store doesn’t disappoint. The owners are super friendly ladies who have tons of creative ideas and share tips and tricks freely. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and eager to help. RCY is my very first choice.
My daughter and I had a knitting workshop (felted slippers) and we had a wonderful time! We learned a lot, not only about making the slippers, but also general knitting tips. Thank you!
Just got back from here and although they don't have the broadest rainbow of wool roving colours, I was so excited to find a store in Edmonton selling needle felting materials! Jennifer helped me out and she (along with the other two ladies behind the counter) were SO FRIENDLY! I will 100% be going back for their simple bulk colours whenever I need them. Thanks again! <3
I’ve shopped both in store and online and I felt like family each time!
I visited this shop on Saturday and have to say that the service was exceptional! The info provided helped me choose the right (&beautiful) yarn for my projects and everyone was very helpful - I came with lots of questions and you guys were able to help me with everything I asked. Can't wait to come back - wish you were closer!
I started crocheting almost two years ago and I quickly became addicted. A coworker suggested I go to River City Yarns and I haven't looked back! They are knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. If they don't have what you are looking for they do their best to get it in for you or or find you something comparable. They go out of their way to help you. Best yarn store in town hands down!
I just started knitting about 18 months ago and since I started going to Rivercity yarns I am actually making stuff I would wear. The girls there have been so helpful and taught me so much. They have a huge selection of beautiful yarns that ensure that my purse is a little lighter when I leave. I think what I like best is all the wonderful friends I have made since I started going there. I really enjoy the Thursday night knit-a-longs.
I have ordered twice from RCY and was very happy both times. They even included a little thank-you gift each time - tea plus a needle gauge or a micro-mini skein. I also love that they've got their own product lines - Hat Trick and Touchdown yarns are unique to them, and are giant skeins expertly dyed. Lovely all around!
Great to shop online by telephone or in store 😍❤️👍
Best yarns , nicest staff!!
As a yarn newbie, it's a bit intimidating to walk into specialty stores. I've found River City Yarns to be super friendly, patient, and welcoming. Put in a custom order for some weaving gear, and it arrived earlier than expected! Excellent customer service at every turn.
An awesome store ..I have been there twice now and the staff is wonderful...traveled from Manitoba and made sure to pick up some Hat Trick yarn ! Totally wonderful to work with
A rare find, indeed. Big, beautiful, and full of helpful and inspiring staff. I left with yarn for two new projects that I can't wait to start. If I lived in Edmonton, I'd move in!
