Somali Alberta Youth Athletic Association (SAYAA) is non-profit organization committed to facilitating a sense of community through athletic events, as well as meeting the needs of a vastly growing Somali youth community in Alberta. Our services include, but not limited to, organizing events, tournaments, and encouraging physical activity amongst our youths. In the future, we hope to host teams from across Canada and also start new programs to keep our Somali youth under the age of 15 active
We have been hosting and organizing tournaments within Edmonton for the past 2years. In the past few months we have had more requests from our youth and our community to host tournaments which requires us to be more organized for a larger amount of participants.
In the last 2years we have 3 consecutive tournaments that have been very successful also on a weekly basis we rent facility for in town matches and practices. In past we had participants paying from their own pockets. Each week we have new members which require expanding our organization to accommodate player and spectators.
