About Ms Jackie & Montessori
Ms. Jackie qualified and worked as an Elementary Teacher in the UK for ten years, five of those years with children with special needs.
In 1982 in Aberdeen, Scotland, she set up and managed a licensed private preschool / daycare.
During this time she was inspired to adopt the Montessori method after completing a course in the practice and principles of the method at Newborough Teacher’s Training Center in Liverpool UK. The directress Miss Dorothy Prior had been trained by former students of Dr. Montessori herself.
Moving to Canada Ms Jackie worked at the Montessori Academy of Red Deer. In 2003 she earned a Diploma through the North America Progressive Montessori Teacher Training program.
She taught at Montessori Academy of Red Deer for eight years before opening
STEPPING STONES IN 2009.
