Swiss Chalet

Good food. Good service. Ample parking.

Friday, November 10th 2017. Came here with my husband and cousin to enjoy a nice meal. Ordered the spinach dip to start, was informed the spinach was frozen so they were unable to make it. My cousin ordered a baked potato with her ribs and quarter chicken, then was informed, they have no baked potatoes! I understand it is a holiday weekend, but this location needs to be more prepared for its customers.

Good kid-friendly restaurant with reasonable prices. I recommend both table service and take-out. Stick to chicken and ribs and you'll have a great experience. (Beef and fish are on the menu but quality is inconsistent.)

We had a wonderful meal here. The staff was friendly and helpful. Portions were great and our food came quickly. Our waitress was cheerful. Our family will be coming back. Thanks for the great meal!!!

We went there on Friday evening for dinner. Upon parking, I noticed this restaurant's parking area only half-occupied. Strange I thought, as it is usually filled to capacity on weekend evenings. We entered and there was nobody at reception to meet and greet us. Waited for 5 minutes and still nobody, so we decided to seat ourselves. The table we selected was very dirty, so off to the closest server station I went to retrieve some napkins and started cleaning the table myself. Then suddenly a waitress finally appeared on the scene and promptly produced a cloth and continued cleaning the table. No "good evening", no "hello", no apologies whatsoever, no "your server will be with you shortly", not a single word. Just a complete screw you attitude conveying why are you bothering me with your arrival! She left abruptly after the table was clean and we took our seats. Waited for 10 minutes and nobody arrived to take our drink orders. Just nothing! We vacated our table and went across to Five Guys where the service was friendly and the food excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal there. As previous regular visitors to Swiss Chalet in Airdrie, we will never return to this restaurant. Now I understand the half-empty parking lot. Avoid this restaurant at all costs, you will only be very disappointed. What a complete disaster! And to think somebody is paying a manager here to destroy this business so effectively.

Food is always good and priced right. This watress seemed to be disconnected. Could do much better.

Staff are always friendly and food comes out quickly.

Servers are fairly attentive and the food is usually hot but I find the portion sizes for the Chicken have seemed to get a bit smaller. Likely not just a thing with this location.

Overall we usually leave fairly happy with out experience.

Maybe things have changed since I was here after it first opened (6 months, let's say), but when I was here with my family we watched people come and go, as in were seated, ordered, ate and left before we got our food. Had to tell the server multiple times that we've been waiting and pointed to other tables that got their food already and came after us. We had friends that showed up 15 minutes after us and they came over to say bye after an hour, and they ordered full meals. It was at this point the manager came out and apologized, and also where we felt like the stupid ones for still sitting there after asking the server what was going on so many times. I've never in my life had this happen, except here. I hope you can give it a chance, but remember you were warned to just walk out if it's been more than 30 minutes and no sign of your meal after ordering!

Went in to order dinner tonight.
Cashier entered wrong item into order but corrected and added an item.
Once home I noticed an item was actually missed.
I called and talked to manager, who was very apologetic and advised he'd bring our missed item to us.
The manager actually came to our home to bring our missed item, and yet again added another item for us to enjoy.

Now that is FANTASTIC customer service.
We order from this Swiss Chalet often and have always loved the food.. but this tops every regular visit!
