What a great festival! Neat selection of food, amazing (FREE!) music lineup full of Edmonton and Canadian superstars! The new location near the Legislature was much better than the old one-- better sight lines, more room, better backdrop and arguably more accessible. I hope it is there again next year!

User

We try to go every year at lease once. Thought tickets were reasonable. What we really liked was the venue location this year, could never understand why Churchill Square has been used this long for the type of crowds attending over the last few years. With heavy traffic on 100 street & 102 Avenue and all the curbs to trip on trying to stand in crowded lines. Hopefully TOE will consider keeping the event at Capital Plaza as it was a much more relaxed atmosphere, lots of open space for the kids and a lot more seating then Churchill and no traffic to deal with.

User

We always love coming to this festival every year I thought the new venue was great, loved the layout and having the atmosphere of the legislature grounds in all its beauty!

I really liked the fact that the area in which you could drink had increased in size. We were able to have drinks and walk around and dine with our friends at the same time. That was really nice!

Compliments to all your staff and volunteers who did an excellent job at organizing everything. Garbage control was at its utmost best, compared to past years.

Overall a great experience!

Thank you and see you next year!

User

This new location was A-MAZING! So much room to move, the licensed portion of the venue was fabulous with tons of comfy furniture to sit on, the grassy hill was perfect for watching Men Without Hats (took me back to my youth!!) and watching the sun set behind that grand Alberta Legislature building was the perfect finale to one beautiful night. Oh. And the food was FAB. Keep that festival in this location ❤️

User

The new venue is much better than before. The arrangement of the seatings (tables & chairs) and garbage were great and easy to find.

Food ticket prices seems to be better as I didn’t see any needing 5 (maybe I missed them). Loved the lemon grass beef. I do agree with previous posts that it is very pricey when you consider the amount of food cost provided versus the price paid in dollars. But I have come to expect this for the Taste of Edmonton and for the Heritage Festival.

User

Loved the setup of the new location with all the patio seating and view of the stage from the grassy hill. I was worried about the tickets/prices but was pleasantly surprised to have tried all the dishes that we wanted, and left feeling completely satisfied. Some really delicious eats! Equally impressed with all the receptacles for garbage and recycling... which is sometimes overlooked at festivals (or they’re grossly overflowing). Overall, a seemingly very well run event and we will definitely return next year!

User

Love this event. We go every year and I swear it gets better and better. We buy our tickets in advance, no complaints with the price. I love the new location! Way more seating, lots of space to move around and the ability to move around with your booze is awesome. I hope you guys keep it at the legislative grounds ! Oh and how could I not mention the food. So good! But it’s always good! Thanks for another awesome year !

User

I really love the new location! Please, please, please continue to have it on Capital Blvd. The new location allowed for a more accessible and comfortable space. The hill in front of the stage allowed us to enjoy the music more. All around WAY better in this location.

User

I loved the new location! I know it must have been a lot of work to pull of but being able to watch great bands overlooking the legislature at sunset while indulging in some of the best food in the city - it was a total dream!

I hope dearly that they'll be able to keep the new location! It made my experience a 1000 times better than in previous years and was the quintessential Edmonton summer setting! Great work!

User

I find most people only comment when they have something negative to say, but I LOVE the venue this year. So much more space, shade, trees, grass, the patio above the pedway and the lovely patio sets! Way more places to take a seat and enjoy. Great view and easy to access. Loved watching the kids playing in the fountains in the middle. Had a great time today.

User

Always have a good time at this annual event! The location is great, very scenic with the legislature as the backdrop. We buy our tickets in advance, so no issues with price. Tables and chairs readily available...The best part is the casual atmosphere

User

Absolutely loved the new location: food selection was great and space was a lot easier to navigate, the removal of a "beer garden" allowed for great food+beverage experience. Overall look and feel of the event has increased with additional lounge areas and the beautiful views of the Legislature and green spaces. Another highlight of this year's Taste of Edmonton was the diverse and inclusive programming, which provided Edmontonians with quality music and party like atmosphere. I am looking forward to seeing this event at the same location next year!

User

Venue is much better than Churchill Square. More places to sit and the set up allowed for much more space to walk around. Great view of the Leg grounds and easy access with the LRT. This event has always been pricey, but was pleasantly surprised to find that many of the food items only required 2-3 tickets. We bought advance tickets which I would suggest should have more places to purchase. Highly recommend this as it saves you $10 and no crazy line up for tickets on site. Two adults easily shared 40 tickets and that included an alcoholic beverage. Will be back next year. Hope that the location stays there. Kudos to the very friendly and helpful volunteers. Very very clean site. Great job!

User

The food as always was good with a great selection so everyone can find something to eat. The location this year is not the best since there is little or no parking in the area. There were more places to sit and enjoy your food and drinks

User

The day we went was a very nice day. Food was good..... a bit expensive for the amount you get; however, still good. These restaurants are not giving out samples.... they are making a profit. We find that each small plate was around $5.00+ The new locale was more spacious but there was not much shade. More tables would be awesome!

User

Liked the venue better than Churchill Square. The number of picnic tables along the avenue was great as it allowed you to sit and eat easily if you needed too.

Enjoyed the entertainment, came specifically to see MWOH.

Some of the items were a little pricey for the amount of food you got.

User

I want to say that having the Taste of Edmonton at the new location is fabulous. The set up was well done. I hope they continue to have it at this location because the space is so big and so many places to sit and enjoy everything. The set up of umbrellas and wicker seating is fabulous. Way better than at Churchill Square. Well done.

User

Great new space! way more room than Churchill. I love that you can have a drink and have your kids with you.

Was looking forward to the pork taco from Hotel Macdonald. I was disappointed to get it for 4 tickets and have it be so liquidy that it drowned the uncooked tortilla that they put it on. It was a mess that tasted good but ended up in the garbage.

The Souvlaki from Koutouki is worth the 3 tickets. Filling and not messy, i kept coming back.

There is a lemongrass beef skewer from somewhere that is delicious! seek them out. they are on the same area as native delights

Chicken and rice from Japanese Village. Delish

User

Loved the venue! But quite expensive; $17 got me 10 tickets which translates into 3 samples of food, no drinks. I also decided to use the "free" shuttle service but ended up paying $25. for parking for no more than 4 hours. I'm not very familiar with downtown Edmonton but after going, I realized there are a lot of areas to park near the venue and I'm quite sure, would have been less expensive than the parkade where the shuttle service was being offered from. Not sure what the shuttle service is for. Perhaps if I had parked in the parking lot behind the parkade, it would have been a little cheaper but there were no signs to let me know that that was available as well; only one sign in front of parkade to let me know that there was a shuttle service! Great entertainment.
