There are a couple people who are a big part of Taylor involved in a very cool fundraiser next month -- an ambitious fundraiser to raise money to help resettle three desperate refugee families. Janene Pedatella, who serves with the E P Wahl Centre team, and Pastor Joel David, who is one of our Affiliate Faculty members, are among those involved.
It's heartwarming to see the passion to serve refugees, and to see several churches working together to stage this Silent Auction. Hope it goes well!

Taylor Seminary graduating student Rohan Samuels missed Grad because he was getting married on the same weekend. So -- we found a way to include Rohan in the experience, producing the following cheeky video to be shared at his wedding reception, and we sent a long his graduation cap to be presented. (Thankfully, he saw the humour in this!)
We also shared the video with the rest of the Class of 2018, and we remembered Rohan during the service -- Photos in the comments. Enjoy!

What a great day of celebration yesterday with the Class of 2018! Our thanks to the many family and friends who joined us as these students crossed the stage.
Join us in blessing these grads as they begin the next part of their ministry journey. (And a lot more photos to come!)

The writing is done, the editing is mostly done, and the proofreading is about to begin in earnest! Over 100 alumni from around the world have contributed to this devotional book, and the insights and life experiences shared here will be a source of encouragement and inspiration for years to come.
The publication of Strength for Today will be a significant release for Taylor -- coming this summer! Watch for details.

Across Canada there is such a sense of loss and grief after a bus crash killed 15 people with the Humboldt Broncos yesterday.
Among those confirmed dead is coach Darcy Haugan (who lived in Peace River before moving to Saskatchewan a few years ago). He was a man of faith, a man who loved the Lord; his sister Deborah Carpenter, from Red Deer, has been tweeting about grief and hope along with memories of her brother today.
In the tweet below, she remembers how Darcy comforted h...er a few years ago after a crash -- with words that hold even more meaning now that he is gone. ‪#‎PrayersForHumboldt‬
"8 years ago, when my husband suffered a high speed MVC, my brother sent me a gift of a Cross. His words of comfort to me were “Just look to the Cross.” Today, again, I look to the Cross and repeat his words to all those grieving. His Faith was his strength, as it is ours."

Rejoice, rejoice!
This Easter Sunday, we celebrate Jesus' victory over hell and death. We celebrate that we have been raised to new life with Him -- Alleluia!

After the Last Supper, after washing the disciples' feet, after spending an anguished night in prayer, after betrayal by Judas, after denial by Peter,... after a sham trial, after being whipped and beaten, after being forced to carry His cross, Jesus was crucified. And as this long, brutal day came to a close, Jesus prayed "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

This Maundy Thursday, we approach Good Friday with a solemn ache in our hearts for what is about to take place.
