The Gamers' Lodge will be hosting Magic League! Participate in competitive Magic in a relaxed, fun and friendly atmosphere!
What is League? League is a way to play Magic that is welcoming for newer players and just as enjoyable for long-time Magic competitors.
... Here’s how it works:
Each player will open three booster packs and use those boosters to build a 30 card minimum deck. Any numbers of lands may be added and these will be provided by us.
Participants will play single-game matches. Each player gets one free mulligan at the start of the game.
Each week, players may add a booster pack to their card pool. Players may alter their decks as much as players would like. Players may also add a booster pack to their card pool after every three losses.
Cost to enter the league is $15 (GST included) which includes three booster packs. You can mix and match from any of the packs we have in stock.
If you are rejoining us, please use the deckbox and sleeves you have already received as new ones won't be issued.
There are no structured pairings. You can play whenever you want and against anyone in the league.
Prizes will be handed out at the conclusion of the league, and this may include things like: promo cards, store credit, booster packs, free event entries, free league entries, etc.

Just in time for Halloween! We’ve restocked Mysterium & expansions. This is a great cooperative game where one player assumes the role of a ghost and provides clues to other players as to who the murderer, weapon and murder setting are! The ghost has to do this without talking and uses beautifully abstract cards to communicate. Gotta love it!

We went on a Friday night for something different as a family fun night. It was perfect! Nice atmosphere, and great friendly staff. We had tea and dessert that was good and of course a great selection of games that were well organized. Totally kid/family friendly - even for a weekend evening and kids are free with a paid adult! Can't wait to go back!

User

We stopped in today, our family of six. We were just driving around looking for something to do. When we walked in we were greeted and shown around. With kids from 3-13 we have trouble finding unique inexpensive activities. For our first visit we were extremely pleased. Good food and great value, if you need to get out the gamers lodge is a great place to go!

User

We spent a lovely evening here tonight - me, my husband, and our little boy. Atmosphere, games, hot drinks, and service were all impeccable.

They even have toys for the little ones, although our son was much more interested in making his own game out of the Star Wars chess pieces while the grown ups played a trivia game.

User

Today was our first experience at a board game cafe. We went with the kids and had a great time. It was a great opportunity to spend time together and play a few new games. The mochas were amazing too. We'll definitely be back!

User

This place is convenient to get to and has a really great atmosphere!

User

The best game they got is Gremlins which you can find on the back wall. The candy bowls are skillfully curated. The teas are good. If you go on Thursday night don’t play Gremlins because that’s my favourite night to go. “Their watching Snow White... and they love it!”

User

Thank you Gamers Lodge for the wonderful wedding reception venue! It was so much fun! A magical night for the bride and groom and all the guests!

User

Something worth noting about Gamers Lodge is their price points. They are so reasonable! Both on merchandise and food. Oh, and the food...*drool* the popcorn alone is worth a trip :)

User

One of my favourite places to go in Edmonton. Friendly staff willing to suggest games and explain the rules, the best treats and snacks and in a cozy welcoming environment.

User

I had a lovely first experience here! My boyfriend and I live very close by and kept passing The Gamer's Lodge, and I am so glad we made the choice to stop in last night. The staff are super friendly and so knowledge, simply amazing! The beer menu is good and I would definitely recommend the chips and "chewbacamole"! Can't wait to come in again soon, the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable; I like that we did not feel rushed as you may at some other board game cafes. Also, the late hours (being open until 2am Fri & Sat) is really nice! What a great addition to 124st!

User

Huge shout out to Carissa who welcomed 15 teenagers every week as part of our school’s Board Games Club. Love how inclusive this space is and the fantastic selection of games. Carissa learned the names of all our students and made everyone feel welcome and included. Particularly impressed with the fact that Gamers’ Lodge provides a safe place for so many different communities. Thanks for being awesome!

User

Had a great time tonight. The atmosphere was fun and the service was excellent. The sriracha popcorn was addictive and I was excited to see they sold vanilla coke! Hopefully as they grow so will their boardgame collection (still a decent size). 10 out of 10 would go again.

User

Great space! Popcorn and drinks were delicious, and the games were fun. The staff was super friendly with great suggestions for games and even helped us set one up and gave a run down on the rules. Definitely making this a regular spot!

User

Great local spot with excellent food and a lot of games. The staff are friendly and the place as an authentic cozy feel. Also a good place to find quality games - I picked up a game I had been looking for here a few weeks back :)

User

Great food, huge game selection, & awesome atmosphere. Justin & Carissa are two of the most knowledgeable people I know when it comes to games & pop culture & I couldn't think of two better nerds to run the joint!

User

Good clean fun in a friendly environment. They have a huge range of games and will explain the rules so you can get started quickly. If you love the game you can buy it in store with confidence. The food is simple but delicious and they have lots of fun snacks and candy as well as beer and wine. Everyone who served us went out of their way to make us feel special. It was a great night out for a very reasonable price.

User

First off, some of the most inviting staff I have ever seen. Polite and accurate to the point of the almost being a party trick. Our group told the two staff our names once and they remebered every time they addressed us.

I went down to the lodge for the first time on a Thursday evening, for an LGBT focused night of gaming. The staff were very helpful in introducing us to other people as they came to the lodge. This led to a great night of networking, and a few new facebook friends.

$5 gets you a big ol' bowl of candy, including coke bottle gummies.

We went there today on May 20th 2018 at 11am, which was the posted opening time for the Victoria Day long weekend. The doors were not open and they were still not open after we waited for 20 minutes (11:20 am), so we left. My group of friends really wanted to try this place out but now we are reconsidering. Please show up on time, especially when you post special hours for a long weekend or at least post an update when you are running behind due to certain circumstances. Thank you.

My family and I enjoyed a fun evening at The Gamer's Lodge. I found it to have a great selection of games (at least for 10-year olds, my only point of reference) and the environment felt really comfortable. We'll definitely be back!!
