The Rt. Hon. Sir Winston Spencer Churchill Society- Edmonton Description
Founded in 1964 by seven citizens of Edmonton, Alberta, the society works to ensure that Sir Winston Churchill's idea's and achievements are never forgotten by succeeding generations. The Sir Winston Churchill Society of Edmonton was the first such organization to be formed, and we were the only one to be officially validated by Churchill himself. Branches were later formed in Calgary and British Columbia. Society activities include formal banquets addressed by outstanding people connected with some aspects of Sir Winston's career (learn more about it in our Events category); public speaking and debating competitions for High School students (also in the Events category), the Sir Winston Spencer Churchill Scholarship in Honours History (learn more about it in our Awards category), and other charitable endeavours.
