The pizza there is delicious. The barmaids and bartenders were really friendly. I would recommend this place to everyone coming to Fort McMurray.

User

So there was this little local shop. Retail shop.

The shop was in dire need of a turnaround... new life. Their soon fate it seemed was surrendering to the pit of bankruptcy.

But before waving the white flag, the shop owner hired a big-shot consultant to come in and help the owner rebuild his business.

As he was stepping inside, the consultant noticed something peculuar about the store's front window and asked, "What about this item selection in the window?"

"That's our 'sale' items" explained the owner. "The store items that we struggle to sell get knocked down in price and recieve the front seat in the store window to help us sell them off".

"And what about your top-selling items?"

"We keep those inside, usually in the back so shoppers can browse the store while retrieving the item they came in for."

"Well then. I think I know where you're going wrong."

The consultant convinced the store owner to reverse his thinking by reversing the order of placement of his inventory. All of the big sellers now sat in the store's front window while the sale items were throughout the store's interior.

"The top sellers are the attention grabbers. That's what gets your customers inside. Once inside, you then have their full attention not only to move the sale items, but everything inside. The top sellers are your basis for repeat and referral business."

Within the month, the store owner had paid off his consultant and walked away from the glooming shadow of bankruptcy. After 90 days the shop was almost ten times over in profits and on a paved road to prosperity.

So, Town Hall...

About the Cloak & Dagger.

One of the best places to eat in Fort Mac for sure! Each server has her one warm, yet highly entertaining personality which sets Townhall apart from other places. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with a modern meets rustic feel. All of the food is really good, my favourite is the Chorizo chicken penne. If you've never been before I definitely recommend it!

Last night I decided to dine at the local pub all the hipsters have been raveing about. Pulling into the parking lot just past 8pm, the building had a look that was reminiscent of a feudal age tavern. As I walked through the front doors the atmosphere enveloped me like a warm hug from my mother. The aroma of hot food and delicious alcohol filled my nostrils.

I sat down at the bar and was quickly welcomed by a tall, well-built gentleman with blonde haire and a well trimmed beard. He reminded of the character Moose, from the Archie comics.

I asked the man for a cold pint of Innis and Gunn darught, and a menu. The bartender hastily delivered me a menu and began to pour my beer with skillful care.

The menu was large enough to have a good amount of variety, but small enough as to not get lost in. I was craving a good burger, so I was excited to see that they had stuffed burgers. Two in fact, Chedder & Bacon, and Goats Cheese with Jalapeno. I asked the bartender for the Goats Cheese and Jalapeno burger, paired with a ceaser salad.

While I waited for my food to prepared I tasted my beer. As the cold beverage entered my mouth I was greeted with flavours of bourbon, oak, and hops. The carbonation danced on my tongue like a Columbian pole dancer. Truly, there are few things in life, as refreshing beer.

My food arrived. Before me sat a neatly stacked burger compiled of lettuce, tomatoes, pickled and onions, a %100 handmade ground chuck patty, topped with Mont. Jack cheese. It was a battle to get my whole mouth around this behemoth of a burger, but I managed to perform a squishing and stuffing technique that forced the burger into my mouth. The flavours of each ingredient with distinct and pleasing to the palate. The pickles and onions provided a small bite while working together with the tomatoes and lettuce to provide a satisfying crunch. The jalapenos added a generous kick that was pleasently diffused by the tangy goats cheese. I was in nirvana. The kind bartender politely askled me how my food was, but I was unable to bring myself away from the burger to reply. It was in a word, sublime.

About half way through my burger I decided to try the ceaser salad. It was tucked neatly inside a cute bowl on the side of my plate. Stabbing my fork into the leaves , ensuring I capture croutons, parmesan and leaves all in one bite. The lettuce was moist and crunchy, and had a generous coating of dressing around it. Flavours of salt and garlic from the croutons complimented the tanginess of the dressing.

After I finished my meal I felt full and satiated. I finished my beer, payed my bill and tipped the bartender, and then headed home for the evenings respite.

All in all, eating at Townhall transcended the restaurant experience. It was not just a place to eat and drink, but was a life experience I will someday tell my great grand children about.

If you have not yet eaten at Townhall, I suggest you drop what you are doing and go there now.

Had both brunch and dinner. Breakfast was delicious and super cheap for what they were serving! Eggs special was fantastic. Dinner I had 3.drinks (2 doubles and a ceaser) an appy and main for 46$. I think for fort Mac that is unbelievable and it was all so delicious. Out server was polite attendant and very professional. Defiantly would recommend. Wish we had one in Calgary!!

User

Great place to enjoy a good drink and some good food after a long days work! Food is good, service is phenomenal, atmosphere is nice. Definitely would recommend!

User

Forever grateful for the friendships made and the highest quality of food, bevvies, and service. Third chair from the right at the bartop will always be my seat. You took me in as one of your own and always made me feel at home. #wearejrg

First time there tonight ! Absolutely loved it ! Executive chef was helping bring orders to tables along side servers, 2 managers always walking around , bartenders were fast and super friendly , waitresses were so nice and gladly took the time to explain the different draft beers that I had never heard of ! Will definitely be a regular customer !

User

Excellent place to eat and hangout with friends and family. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing service, what more could you need.

User

Best place to eat in Fort mac, great atmosphere, real friendly staff. Have eaten there a dozen times and haven't had a bad meal. $8 wings and a $6 dollar full breakfast... how can you go wrong.the beer tastes pretty good also... lol.... highly recommend it.

User

Amazing! We were there for the Dueling Pianos and it was the best event we've been to Fort McMurray! We had "standing" tickets and got a seat at the bar. Our server was amazing! Drinks came right away, the wings were really good and the nachos were much better than expected! Sure to be back! Thank you everyone at Townhall!

User

Went for the New Years dinner it was delicious and the service was great. However the drinks were being served in hot glasses so the wine and beer were not appetizing. Great food but disappointed as the wine was not drinkable in the hot/warm glass from the dishwasher. Get extra glasses for next year ;)

User

I loved the interior...very big room. It could get quite loud though. Needs more dark beer choices. Good food! But watch out for the paper serviette on the plate under the potatoes and waxy under the veggies...

User

Good food and friendly staff, but rather loud so I have to talk louder and repeat myself to the people at our table.

User

Beautiful place, enjoyed the atmosphere.. my only suggestion is hire staff who are a little more knowledgeable of the beers they're serving... a server should be able to help you choose from that long list of craft beers, not just look pretty. I will be back though! :)

User

Atmosphere is second to none.

The decor is very "nouveau old world" as it pays hommage to all aspects of culinary history. The open concept and metal work is a great touch. The lighting reminds me of the old gas lamps of yesteryear.

It's a little loud, but it's what you expect for a busy new restaurant.

Comparable to an Italian Mercato, while enjoying a hot, fresh neapolitan style pizza.

I had the King Ferdinand pizza and it was fabulous!

Although I'd love to taste more fennel seed in the sausage.

The service was great and the food was was perfectly timed.

A great new addition to the downtown district!

I'll be back!

User

Service and atmosphere was great. Didn't really enjoy the steak (probably should just save that for the keg) the wife's fish and chips were good. On second visit we ordered the nacho's. I was a little shocked to see them come out with the unseasoned ground beef just all plopped down on top. Very bland. I'll go back and try something else because the service was good.

User

It's bar/pub food at best. I've eaten twice here(for convenience, my hotel shares the same car park). Chorizo penne and Chicken sandwich. The penne was loaded with herbs, pasta was over cooked, but I didn't suffer any ill effects. The chicken sandwich, it was ok, nothing special, middle of the road, and for an extra $2, yam fries, could they bring a smaller portion..wow, very poor effort, certainly not VFM.

Decent choice of regular beer, and loads of craft beer if that's what you like.

User

My girlfriend and I were forgotten about twice now, on separate occasions, as we were asked "Oh, you havent gotten your appetizer yet?" This place used to be my go to. Kind of sad to see where it's gone since new management. Sorry for the birthday supper, love. Always next year somewhere else.

The pizza there is delicious. The barmaids and bartenders were really friendly. I would recommend this place to everyone coming to Fort McMurray.

Excellent place to eat and hangout with friends and family. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing service, what more could you need.
