Summer is the most common time of year to move. One of the biggest reasons why is because of the weather. No one wants to move in a snowstorm or the pouring rain, but some people don’t realize moving on a really hot day can be equally as difficult. Very high temperatures can be dangerous to both you and your movers. Here are some tips to help keep everyone cool and safe: https://hubs.ly/H0cX6_f0

One of our great Edmonton movers Eric recently found a random person in need of help moving and he didn't hesitate to jump right in and load up the truck! We love to see our movers giving back to the community in this way!

You have more stuff than you think you do. That’s a fact. Even if you doubt us now, when it comes time to move, you’ll realize we were right. So if you don’t want to end up having to move way too much stuff (some of which you likely don’t use, want, or need) you need a plan for downsizing and decluttering. We have that plan: https://hubs.ly/H0crZZP0

For people, moving can be a stressful experience. One of the best ways to help a person or child who is struggling to cope or understand is to talk it through with them and explain everything. But you can’t do this with every member of your family. Pets are easily stressed and upset by the moving process, and you can’t just tell them everything is going to be ok. Here are some of our best tips for keeping your pets safe and happy during the move: https://hubs.ly/H0chFW70

Planning a move? It’s getting to be the busiest time of year for moving companies, so you want to make sure to book early to ensure you can get the day and time you’re looking for. If you can, try to book your move in the middle of the month. When you do this, you’re more likely to get the time you want, and you get movers who are less busy and less tired. Plus, when you move with us between the 4th and 24th of the month, you can get discounts of up to $30 per hour. Get your free estimate here: https://hubs.ly/H0c8NXS0

May is a month that’s all about moving (it’s National Moving Month) so we want to make sure all of our followers know all about moving companies. We know a lot of people aren’t sure about the benefits of using a moving company. We used Two small Men with Big Hearts for a recent house move, and were very impressed. The two movers, Eric and Victor, were very easy to work with and did a fabulous job.

Two Small Men is that very Edmonton moving company which agreed to transport our huge chandelier to Calgary. We entrusted the movers with this important mission because we followed our friends’ advice. We’re anxious because this chandelier had been in our family for more than 50 years but in fact we didn’t have to – it was moved with extreme care.

These folks were awesome! Christine, Jeffrey and Tito thanks so much for your quick and efficient service........Dolly and Mable :)

When I first called to book my move, the lady on the phone was very polite and helpful. She answered all my questions and I explained to her that some of my bigger items such as my bed frame would need to be taken apart and she assured me that not only would her movers take apart my furniture they would also re assemble it in the new place. I thought the price and the fact that they were willing to do that for me was a great deal. The day for the move came and I waited and waited until the movers finally showed up late. I requested an early move as new tenants were arriving to move in that day. They didn't show up until 10:30 am. To my surprise there was a female mover (not that women can't do what men can) It just wasn't what I was expecting. I felt a pit in my stomach and just knew this move wasn't going to go well. I asked them to please take apart my bed frame and anything else they might think would be easier moved if taken apart... they showed up with no tools (after I specifically said on the phone that some of my items would need to be taken apart) The male mover told me that no tools were sent with them. I had to call a friend to come and take apart my bed for me. As they were loading things onto the truck I could see my furniture being damaged right before my eyes, they were not lifting things and just pushing my furniture into the walls and down the stairs. I was busy with cleaning and getting things organized when the movers came to me and said that they had dropped my nightstand down the stairs. I went to go see it and it was completely busted in ten different pieces. I asked them how it happened and they said it fell off the dolly.... The movers said they would document any damage they caused and the company would be liable. So with that said and me already being stressed out from the move, I didn't think to take a picture of it and just put it in the garbage pile. As they started to move my bed, I had to remind them of the $10 mattress cover I had purchased for the move. They put it on but as they were moving my mattress, I watched the male mover push my mattress down the stairs as he said "I love this part, it's easy to move a mattress" the cover slid up the side and my brand new mattress was left dirty from being pushed down the stairs of the building. So nightmare after nightmare I didn't think it could get any worse, they then told me that they broke the leg off my dresser, but all I would need to do is get some wood glue, but they weren't sure if the glue would hold the weight of the dresser. They also proceeded to tell me that they like this company (two small men) because you don't need any previous experience, they will hire anyone just because they need people. He told me that he was hired the day before my move because my move was an "emergency" and they needed a driver. He also said that the female mover was hired two hours prior to my move. At this point I was so mad. I would hardly call my move an emergency considering I had it booked a month or more in advance. The whole point of me hiring a moving company was so that I would have professionals moving my brand new expensive furniture and not my friends, who I didn't trust not to damage my belongings. In the end, all my belongings were damaged anyways and I spent way more money than I would've if I had gotten friends to do it. When everything was loaded up, the movers said they would meet me at my new place, I agreed and they went on their way. I had a few small cleaning tasks to complete at the apartment before I left and garbage to take to the bin. I left maybe 15 mins after they did. When I arrived to the new place they were still not there and didn't show up for another 20 minutes. It was during that time that I called their office to complain about my move, how they damaged all my furniture, they damaged my old place, they broke furniture, how they were late and still not at the new place. She told me there was nothing they could do about damage to my old place or my broken nightstand if I didn't have any pictures for proof. It was a piss off but I understood. So from that point on I started taking photos. I started noticing more damage to my furniture as they were offloading the truck. They were handling my furniture very unprofessionally. The female mover was throwing items out of the truck including all my couch cushions right onto the dirty ground. I had asked them not to wear shoes into the bedrooms of the new place as they are carpeted and the carpets had just been cleaned the night before. They agreed, but I then seen them take off their shoes and walk all over outside before walking inside onto the freshly cleaned carpets... When I say don't wear shoes on the carpets, that also goes for dirty socks you just walked around outside in. As they brought my dresser inside, I noticed that not only was the leg broken off, the slots where the drawers go in are also broken. I'm also noticing all the damage to my new place, the walls, a vent, the railing, the door frame, the stairwell trim, even parts of the ceiling! I couldn't believe my eyes. I also noticed scratches and rips in my couch, including a large hole in the side and a large rip on the bottom. My tv stand also had scratches and paint removed. I called the office again, I asked why they had sent a female mover, the lady on the phone told me that they don't send out female movers. I said there was one in front of me and she sounded surprised. I then asked why they sent two people that they just hired. She told me that they both had previous moving experience on their resumes but maybe they should've checked the references better. I also made her aware of all the damage and she told me to take photos. She then said she would take an hour off of my final price, which was nice of her, but in the end I still ended up paying the whole price for the move because I forgot about the $50 deposit I put down beforehand. All in all, this move was a complete nightmare. And I am still dealing with it a week later. I put in a claim for all the damages, I sent photos and they are ignoring me. I've called, emailed, left voicemails. Next step is going to their office myself, and or filing a complaint to the better business bureau. I would not recommend this moving company to anyone, unless you have furniture you don't care about. I hired these people for a service and they did not deliver. I worked hard to be able to buy myself nice things, and this company ruined it all.

User

Well they don't show up on time and date they don't explain quotes properly. And they always delay delivery great job.

I then offered to pay them in the morning upon arrival they declined and said they are moving my stuff to storage so that's the story how I'm losing everything I own to a shit company.
