University Of Alberta Healthy Campus Unit Description

The Healthy Campus Unit (HCU) is a team of staff, students, and volunteers working to create a culture of wellness at the University of Alberta. We believe that wellbeing is vital to student success, and that everyone has the capacity to build wellness through their everyday interactions. The HCU seeks to build wellness through initiatives on campus that recognize the many dimensions of health and wellness. Unwind Your Mind is a capacity building program to help students manage stress and empower them to create their own wellness. The Wellness Project seeks to recognize those leaders who are shaping campus wellness, and to support wellness initiatives through our Wellness Grant Program. The direction of the HCU and our initiatives is shaped by the National College Health Assessment, a survey that determines the unique health needs of our university population, which we administer once every three years.
