Been in icu for 2 days now. Weekend shift is horrible. I've had a bucket full of pee on my counter since 10am cause I can't walk and three nurses have refused to empty it. I have to go number 2 so bad I may end up going in bed because there's one wheelchair for the whole ward it seems and they seem to enjoy ignoring my buzzer and screams. Food is decent enough for hospital food I suppose.

I would describe the nurse my grandmother had as unproductive, lazy and careless. It took the nurse three hour to ask the doctor to give her something for her unbearable pain. The nurse's passion for nursing has clearly died off somewhere. I would recommend a new career for her. Her attitude was snarky. It was really off putting for someone visit my sick grandmother.

Wait time for a surgery is ridiculous. Was told to come in on Monday for surgery Tuesday. And each night come 9pm I was told I'll be taken the next day come Thursday still no surgery. Don't tell a patient to come in 3 days before you can take them if OR is backed up that much. No way someone didn't know what bullsbi6

I was a emergency case, had I not received the treatment I had, I might have died. The nurses & staff from the 4th floor ward I was on, were all amazing, compassionate, caring & BEAUTIFUL! VERY THANKFUL I WAS THERE.

Absolutely amazing nurses, doctors and staff. I was admitted last November and from that night on they have all treated me with such amazing care. I am still being treated on week days, nurses in 1C3 outpatient are just as caring. I have a long treatment so I am so thankful for all these amazing people.

I got there about 10:30pm and I was in a bed at around 12:00. I saw a nurse at about 1:00 who took my blood pressure for the second time. Apparently there was only one doctor for three areas so I didn't see him until 3:00am and he sent me for X-rays that I didn't get some until 4:30am. After the X-rays it took until around 7:30 to tell me that my hand wasn't broken at that I'd just need to ice it.
Total: 9 hours to tell me that the bone is just bruised.

The doctor and nurses were awesome, it's the wait times that are insane.

Advice to everyone: If any hospital staff here are rude/have bad morale or seem incompetent, ask to speak to their supervisor. Get the supervisor to explain things to you. You can also file a formal complaint with Alberta Health Services Patient Relations. People need to do this because it will help other patients too. The Alberta government has done major healthcare cutbacks, but that is not an excuse for patients to be treated badly by hospital staff who are accountable for their actions. You might also want to get a copy of your hospital records.
