Windmill Garden Centre And Butterfly House

Windmill is great! Awesome selection. Employees are super helpful. Butterfly house is an experience! Can't wait until you reopen in February!

Windmill Garden Centre is a great greenhouse with a lovely variety of plants and giftware. The butterfly house is beautiful and a fun outing to do with your family. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. All in all, a gem of Medicine Hat.

We had booked the butterfly gardens for an hour to do wedding photos and the staff were so nice and amazing. She made sure we all stayed hydrated with cold water from their fridge supply too. We were lucky to get to use their facility and ended up with amazing photos we will cherish forever!

Visiting the Butterfly House is now our Mother's Day tradition. 3 generations, my mom, myself and my two daughters. We enjoy the wonderful atmosphere in the butterfly house, visit with the animals in the petting zoo and take home a cart full of flowers. My favorite springtime activity!

This place was amazing. The staff were incredibly nice, the gardens beautiful, prices were affordable, the free petting zoo was a great surprise, and the whole place just feels like stepping back into simpler times. Very down to earth and a great place to spend hours in. I was really glad I went and plan to go again.

The beautiful flowers can brighten any garden and also helps add a special colourful touch to any salad or cake (the edible ones, of course)!

Thanks for all of your help yesterday. I love the new orange petunias and all of the flowers that will look great in the pots and decor at the Mothers Day Tea. As always the staff were very helpful.

Love this place! My daughter always loves coming in and going through the beautiful butterfly gardens and then the petting zoo!! We always stop at the little cafe to grab an ice cream or baked treat before picking out a plant or orniment.. Also have attended the Pumpkin Fest both years and will definately be doing it again this year!!! Always a great time at this place! Ajd i highly reccommend it!

Love the Windmill garden centre so much! We live in the neighbourhood and it has always been a part of my life! I do wish you guys had a small safe area to tie your dog while you went inside, just because it's so close to first street!

Beautiful garden centre, easy to navigate to find what you're looking for, and the visit was much more inviting with the lovely decor and animals. The staff member was very helpful in assisting my brother and I with finding appropriate "cat-friendly" indoor plants, and had a wonderful music play list. We were not pressured to made a decision as I researched what I was interested in purchasing. I'm happy with my new house plants, thank you for the awesome customer service! :)

Such an interesting experience. Very peaceful. & challenging to spy as many species of butterfly & to read about all the different plant life within the butterfly house. A great activity for people of all ages.

I love the Butterfly House! Such a quiet beautiful oasis to visit. My boys love the little birds hoping all around and the plants and butterflies are gorgeous. You can learn a lot there too! It gets a bit expensive to take the family but it is a nice treat once in a while! Definitely worth a visit!

Wow, this was literally the worst customer service I have ever received in my life. My daughter and I go to the butterfly house every spring, and it is great. This year we are putting in several gardens and wanting to support local, I figured we'd go to the Windmill. I informed the cashier/sales woman that I was a new gardener and she treated me like I was an idiot over every question I asked. She kept repeating herself, and when I said "yes I understand, and I will purchase what you've recommended but what about these flowering bushes?", she then told me not to bother because I wasn't listening to her. She then said that I was a "very rude customer" and walked away. Since when was it rude to ask a question when you've admitted you are not a pro-gardener? I understand customer service can be stressful, but really, she was down right ignorant. I will be taking my money elsewhere and will never be back. I hope that management understands that they've just lost a customer that wouldn't have minded spending a bit extra on a local venue versus the box store. It's a shame that one person can so drastically ruin a place that has normally been so good.
