About Wpfaa

We believe that no one is better able to take care of WestJet than WestJet owners and that is exactly who we are.

Wpfaa Description

First off, we are all Proud WestJet Flight Attendants. We are not entitled, lazy or angry with WestJet or Management. We are, however engaged, we have a deep understanding of our current system of representation and we are concerned that WestJet Flight Attendants are no longer part of the Proactive Communication that defines our current representation.

We do agree that change is necessary in order to stay competitive and to continue making a profit but we believe that our people need to be more actively involved in making those decisions. After all, is it not our people who drive guest loyalty? If the company can trust us to provide exceptional guest service why should we not also be trusted to have a voice in the direction WestJet is taking? As responsible members of the WestJet community we should not only celebrate our successes but should also be encouraged to voice our concerns. We are not questioning the decisions that have been made, however, we are disappointed with the way these changes were communicated to the Flight Attendant group. Ultimately, it is our lifestyle, our working environment and our guests who we interact with on a daily basis that have been impacted by these decisions.

We firmly believe that WestJet is an incredible place to work. We have an inherent reason to want WestJet to succeed as we are all shareholders. We understand our culture, our people and most importantly that we are incredibly fortunate to call WestJet home. We believe that no one is better able to take care of WestJet than WestJet owners and that is exactly who we are.

Our plan is to be successful in certifying as an in house representative association with the goal of creating an atmosphere of mutual respect with the WPFAA, other departments at WestJet as well as WestJet Shareholders and Executives. The difference between FAAB and the WPFAA would simply be that there is a legal backbone to the new system and that the WPFAA would be self sufficient in terms of funding unlike PACT, which is heavily subsidized by WestJet. It is clearly stated in our constitution that a requirement of being part of the WPFAA Executive requires that a minimum of 22. 5 hours of flying must be maintained each month. This ensures that your executive members are staying engaged and up to date with the concerns of line Flight Attendants. The WPFAA will do it's best to make the phrase "we dropped the ball, we are sorry" a thing of the past by being involved in the decisions that impact the Flight Attendant group. We have built our initiative on the foundation of solid, transparent, accountable Representation with a spine of solid legality to govern us.

We look forward to being able to share our foresight with you and welcome and encourage your feedback!

Proper representation could mean the difference between having a job or looking for one.

Ive been lucky enough to be involved with this amazing group for over 6 months now and I am still blown away. Professionalism and true transparency is what you will get from the WPFAA. Oh yeah and a CBA with the law on our side :). Moving Forward Together.

Fantastic people all around! It's unfortunate that a company who claims to embrace change is so full of people who are threatened to their very core by the prospect of it. Keep up your hard work WPFAA you're on the right track!

I am not getting an answer to basic financial questions or other questions I have asked on their page and I have been banned from making any comments as well. To me for a group that wants representation and wants to be up front, honest and transparent, this is far from it. Why is my voice muted on this site, when it is a public site? Hardly seems upfront, honest and open to me. Not impressed at all.

I am kind of shocked that WPFAA is being so unprofessional towards CUPE. If flight attendants want union representation ( and as a union member, I would say yes, a union is so important! Labour laws are almost unenforceable without a union!) why is WFPAA standing in the way? An association is not a union. Let people decide based on facts, not your misinformation.
