Zinc Restaurant / Zinc Catering

This is the third year that we've chosen Zinc for our Valentine's Day meal, and it was AMAZING as always. The ambiance is always gorgeous, the food was both beautiful and delicious, and the wine pairings were perfectly matched with each course. Most importantly, the service was excellent! The team at Zinc truly went above and beyond to ensure that we had a special night. We are extremely grateful and will be returning to Zinc again and again!

The food was absolutely magnificent and the service was amazing. Great atmosphere, great food and great service makes for a wonderful dining experience!

DROOL!! The food at Zinc is creative, delicious, and beautiful. Zinc was the perfect location for an intimate reception for my mom's wedding. I was lucky enough to come along to the tasting, and the meal itself on the wedding day was even better. Everyone enjoyed it, and the staff at Zinc was phenomenal. We loved it!

A friend and I both visited Zinc during Edmonton's Downtown Dining Week. This was the first visit for both of us, and not the last. We couldn't decide on what to order for drinks and inquired about a possible pairing for the set Dinner menu! So happy we were able to be accommodated. Turns out our tastes are quite similar. We started off with a lovely pallet cleansing Prosecco. Lovely. Course 1 consisted of a Fried oyster basket and maple cocktail sauce paired with a delightful white. The oysters were perfectly coated and seasoned. The cocktail sauce was sweet and just....delicious.

Course 2 was Duck cassoulet with beer and white beans and caraway seed bread paired with a red. I am so sorry that I didn't write down the names of the wines. I love duck! And this is another example of why I love duck. Tender thigh and leg, falling off the bone perfect! I am not a fan of caraway seed so I simply shared the bread with my dining partner. She said it was sweet and a beautiful bread. I wish the baked white beans were a touch more flavorful. A little shy on the salt. But they were secondary to the duck so wasn't really relevant and it didn't stop me from eating most of this hearty dish.

Course 3: Butternut squash cheesecake, pear and peach salsa, Tonka bean, white chocolate curl served with a Riesling from Dirty Laundry. The only reason I remember this name is because I have had a bottle or two at home. The cheescake was simply sinful. Yes, I am sure you have heard this description before of any dessert that was remarkable. But this was beyond remarkable. It was deadly. I am so thankful the portion was small. The pear and peach salsa balanced the sweetness perfectly. My dining partner and I were in agreement with the riesling. It didn't quite fit. The richness of the dessert deserved a dessert wine. Something that stuck to the tongue and complimented instead of erasing the delishisness of each bite. And finally the coffee to wrap the evening off. Sigh. Satisfied and content! The service was awesome. I'll be back!
