Our Canadian biathletes are back on home soil and are getting ready to race at the 2019 IBU World Cup Biathlon in Canmore, Alberta, February 7th - 10th at the Nordic Centre! I had the chance to pop up to the biathlon range and chat with hometown hopefuls Rosanna Crawford, Biathlete and Scott Gow. A special weather statement has been issued for Vancouver where they're expecting few flurries and an overnight windchill factor as cold as -14. Where did I put my tiny violin? -Rob
All Our Lady of the Snows and Ecole Notre-Dame Des Monts bus routes have been cancelled today (Feburary 4) due to the extreme cold. The schools will still be open for parents who are able to drop off and pick up their children. For CRPS, only in-town Canmore buses will run today. All other buses including Banff, Exshaw, Lac Des Arcs, Harvie Heights, Lake Louise and Highway 40 will not be running today. Further updates can be found here through the morning: https://twitter.com/BUS2CRPS

The Shoe Project is back to feature another group of 10 women from all over the world sharing stories of the journeys that brought them to the Bow Valley. Conceived by local novelist Katherine Govier, the stories are told through a pair of each women's shoes in an art display and two sold-out performances at artsPlace this weekend. Claudia and Mila are two of this year's Shoe Project participants. I welcomed them on air to share a bit of their histories, details on this weekend's shows, and how the project has brought them together in friendship. https://www.mountainfm.ca/2019/01/29/the- shoe-project-2019/
