A Better Didsbury Description
Transparency – open and honest communication, public forums, focus groups, use of website and social media. Working to address a more open and accessible reporting of financials to our community.
Community Engagement - working on making the town more inclusive of its residents, valuing their input and opinions. I continue to meet with residents and businesses and ask "What do you think we should be focusing on? How can we help you?
Fiscal Responsibility – responsible balanced budgeting for long term viability with a sustainable tax plan. Working with council to put policies in place to to ensure we continue to grow and prosper.
Long Term Infrastructure Plan – including a Preventative Maintenance Plan – covering all Town assets /facilities.
Sensible Sustainable Growth – ensuring the community grows while maintaining our charm and heritage while sustaining the infrastructure necessary for that growth. We need to ensure we are competitive with other towns when it comes to contractors and developers.
Economic Development Plan –a new Business Revitalization plan updated for the 21st Century. My goal is to help engage businesses in initiating an Economic Dev''t committee made up of volunteers from all types of businesses and local groups and citizens.
Preserve our heritage and history - We have designated our first 2 heritage resources; AGT building and Berscht Block (aka Victoria's Flowers) We are working on 2 additional municipal heritage resources. As well, I would like to see council develop a Heritage Tree policy.
