There is still time to register your child for Camp Curious next week! Get ready for a dino-mite adventure as we take a trip back to prehistoric times. You have until midnight on Thursday to register online or visit the Abbey Centre from 5:30 - 10pm.

User

Very clean and organized, well lighted and everything was well accessible and the staff very friendly and more than accommodating, bleachers could have been a bit more comfortable but then again most bleachers suck any ways Well done Blackfalds, there's a few organizations that need to visit your facility and see what to do for theirs.

User

The Abby centre was extreamly busy, however it was clean, the staff was very helpful and kind and the consession was extreamly reasonably priced. Cost us $30 for 4 people and a snack for everyone.... we were there for about 4 hours. Great value if you ask me!!

User

My daughter and I just joined the Abbey Centre to get into shape and they have everything we need to work out and more. Good job Blackfalds for the centre but we could still use a indoor pool for the winter months as well.

User

Much needed facility for Blackfalds! I personally love the workout space everything I need and more. Plus the child minding is spectacular my 2 year old always looks forward to going to see the girls they are amazing with her! I very much recommend this facility for all!

User

Love this place! The ladies at the front desk are AWESOME! My kids LOVE the childminding, their hours are excellent and I don't have difficulty booked my two toddlers in! Prices are reasonable and there's no pressure to sign a lengthy contract! The fitness center is large and always clean, I never have to wait too long for equipment and if I do the other "users" are happy to work in! I have never gone and not seen tons of smiling faces, overall a wonderful establishment and I would highly recommend it!

User

It's a great place for kids of all ages. Admission is very reasonable and the facility is beautifully clean

User

I love the childminding program(my child is always disappointed when I tell her it's time to go, since she is having way too much fun), the world class gym and all the drop in classes provided and it's only a few blocks from my house........bonus!

User

Great price, not to crowded, will definitely come again

User

Great place for all to enjoy. Take my grandaughter there regularly to enjoy the indoor fun they have for the little ones. Drop off for the young kids great as well and the girls there very friendly and you have no worries in leaving your kids there for a few hour.

User

Great little get away from the city pools. Seems to have caught on though so beware if you arrive at peak times- you may have to wait.

Great value!

User

Fantastic facility that's reasonably priced. We enjoyed the outdoor pool for several hours. We did have to wait to get in as the pool was full to start. But the kids spent the time playing in the gym. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

User

The play place is awesome! My toddler LOVES it! Prices are reasonable (though he is still FREE). Staff is friendly. Facilities are clean as a whole- neat and organized. We come from Red Deer regularly!

BUT***

Am I the only human being who thinks the play area’s bathroom should have either a DIAPER GENIE or a TRASH CAN WITH A LID???!!!

Now I know it is a pint-sized potty intended for young ones to *dazzle* with their rushed and uncoordinated attempts at tinkling and returning to play... but the GARBAGE!

I know it only takes one rancid offender to destroy a toilet- and the cleaning staff are pretty on top of things...but for the love of the cookies I just ate or the simple HUMANITY:

Could we please consider a less open concept for the bathroom refuse?!

I think this would enhance the public’s experience...and the smell. (I mean, it bothered me enough to post this!)

Please tell me others agree...

User

Great facility, no one there to ensure all kids wore socks in the play area

Think the Customer Service and food area should be reversed

User

While this is a good place to bring kids during inclement weather, two things prevent it from being 5 stars. First is the absence of anything to buffer the incredible noise levels in the children's play space. It is deafening in there and can't be at all good for little ears.(or anyone's ears) Second is the bathroom in the play space restricted to children only (?) The adults with them have to leave the area to use a bathroom down the hall or in the change room. This means gathering up your child(ren) putting your shoes back on (I would not recommend walking to and using the washroom in socks, gross) and going down the hall then returning taking shoes off again to resume play. Pointless.

User

We have been coming as a family for two months now. It's a beautiful facility. The reason for 3 stars is that with a 10 and 13 year old we are VERY limited to what we can do together. My son (10) can play in the play centre but my daughter is too old. My son is too young to be there unsupervised so in a facility that promotes exercise we sit and watch. I take my daughter to the track and gym. My son is considered to young to join us, even though we've participated in many races together as a family and he loves running. So he sits out. The only thing we can do as a family is play sports. There is usually little choice as to which sport to play with teams playing in other fields. Also, I would expect the concession at a facility promoting a healthier lifestyle to be serving healthier food?!

The staff are amazing and friendly. I really wish the age for the track was more individualized so my son could participate.

User

My daughter and I absolutely LOVE this place. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is because my daughter is 5.5 and is disabled. The 2 options for changing her are in the ladies change room on the baby change station which is not safe, or on the floor in the family room bathroom......which is gross. They also don't have wheelchair access doors to get from the change room to the pool which makes it hard to manoeuvre if I don't have someone there to help. The pool is amazing, and the staff has always been great, but they need to make some changes for people with disabilities.

User

Cool place. Not the cleanest the day we visited.

Splash park was closed for half the day on a very hot day.

User

Really weird age rules...... Id never get a membership they are not all inclusive and they hid the near drowning incident from 2014 that the life gaurd caused and the parent saved her own kid.

User

Yesterday my husband And I took our 3 year old son swimming at the abbey centre. My husband and son went up to the waterslides with my son wearing his own personal life jacket. My husband went down first and then stood beside me to catch our son. Our son came down without his lifejacket on and sank to the bottom of the pool, if we had not been there he would have drowned. Instead of sending a 3 year old down a slide without a lifejacket or knowing if someone is going to catch him, Just send the child back down the stairs with his safety device on. How idiotic. And where was his lifejacket? Thrown down from the top beside the fence. Talk to your lifeguards and have a better plan when a child goes to the top with a lifejacket on because the lifeguard did not tell my husband our son couldn't wear a life jacket!
