Acua Alberta Council For The Ukrainian Arts

Ukrainian art and Ukrainian artists of Albertan heritage and /or living in Alberta.

Our main areas of activity include:

* publication of the biannual Ukrainian arts and culture magazine, ACUA Vitae;

* provision of annual scholarships through the Ukrainian Resource and
Development Centre at Grant MacEwan University and through the Friends of the Ukrainian Folklore Centre at the University of Alberta;

* monthly list service with current calls, opportunities, and events for Ukrainian artists and Ukrainian arts organizations;

* Artist directory listing access

* Annual art shows and sales in Edmonton, Calgary, Jasper and the Ukrainian Heritage Village

*ongoing art workshops offered to the general public, featuring a wide variety of mediums.

working with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress - Alberta Provincial Council to stage and art show and children`s craft tent on their annual Ukrainian Day which is held at the Ukrainian Heritage Village on the second Sunday in August.

Coordinating the Arts & Culture tent and the Entertainment at the Ukraine pavilion during Edmonton`s Annual Heritage Days held on the first weekend in August.
