The purpose of this page is to promote fundraising opportunities the community can get involved in - bacon fundraisers, bottle drives, and events.

On behalf of the #15 Medicine Hat Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron Sponsoring Committee, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to tell you about our organization and what lies ahead for the Squadron in the coming years.

The Royal Air Cadet Program will be celebrating 75 years of operation in May 2016. Medicine Hat was one of the founding Squadrons with an establishment date of 1941. Properly recognizing such a momentous event will take planning and funding beyond that which we normally raise for the core program.

It may be surprising to hear that the core program itself is not free, beyond the multitudes of volunteer time and funds from Department of National Defense the program still requires an additional $1, 000 of funding per cadet on average. The cadet program prides itself on equal access and opportunity for all; therefore joining costs are kept to a minimum to ensure all youth can participate. This is the primary role of the Sponsorship Committee, to fill the financial gaps for the program.

In addition, 2017 will mark the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge and 24 Cadets will be travelling to Vimy France to participate in the anniversary ceremonies and learn about Canada’s part in this historic event.

It will be a huge financial undertaking to fund for these events while ensuring we also meet our funding requirements for core program training.

We hope you too can see the value in the opportunities our program can provide youth and ask you to consider extending a donation.

We hope that you will be able to take part in one or more of the many exciting events that we are offering this year and experience first hand the pride we take in supporting our cause.
