What bolsters a dancer's interest in coming to #Alberta to pursue their arts career? “We attract many dancers, they google the Rockies, the mountains, and they see the beauty here. This idea of people from different cultures is what makes Alberta Ballet unique. It’s a wonderful place to create art,” said Jean Grand-Maître. “Decision making, I call it choice making. Every decision you make is a choice you make. Sometimes you have to make decisions that are such a close call and you regret them later. No one’s perfect. You learn from them more than the good decisions. I think that way when working with dancers. These decisions can push us to new levels and help us discover new parts of ourselves,” says a candid Jean Grand-Maître on Episode 4 of #ThisBalletLife Listen now https://www.albertaballet.com/alberta-bal let-podcast

Both Cinderella and All of Us were brand new works for the ballet season that saw incredible success. Listen to episode 5 of This Ballet Life as dancers Melissa Eguchi, Kelley McKinlay, and Heather Thomas share stories on personal challenges, keeping healthy, and the massive commitment it takes to be a ballet dancer #ThisBalletLife #AlbertaBalletDancer https://www.albertaballet.com/alberta-bal let-podcast

Music for #AllofUs was provided by legendary Canadian musicians #The TragicallyHip. Dancer Melissa Eguchi started listening to The Hip a few years ago. She shares in Episode 5 of #ThisBalletLife: “There’s a lot of poetry in the music. It’s inspiring. The music is gorgeous and easy to listen to. To be able to collaborate and relate the music to dancing is incredible.” PC: Paul McGrath #AlbertaBalletDancers perform to #WheatKings Hear the conversation with Melissa on Alberta Ballet's #podcast: https://www.albertaballet.com/alberta-bal let-podcast

Jean Grand-Maître spoke on attracting world class talent to our home province Alberta in Episode 4 of #ThisBalletLife: “I think there’s more of a challenge of attracting Canadian dancers than international, believe it or not. Artistically, it’s not as saturated as cities like Montreal or New York. We have a strong connection in the community.” https://www.albertaballet.com/alberta-bal let-podcast

It is said a person makes thousands of decisions in a single day. In the life of a dancer those decisions must be made carefully in order to make the most of their time as performers. Some take time, others happen in the blink of an eye. Hear from dancer John Canfield on Episode 4 of This Ballet Life. PC: Paul McGrath https://www.albertaballet.com/alberta-bal let-podcast

Our Canada was an amazing tribute to our country and a Canadian legend. I was in awe of the talent of the dancer and the seamless choreography. Bravo. We cannot wait for the next show!

Modern interpretations of timeless classics...Alberta Ballet just keeps getting better and better!

I take my daughter to the nutcracker every year so she can marvel at "the big kids" dancing and it has never disappointed. However, last night we attended the opening performance of Romeo and Juliet. It was stunning. Mariko Kondo was just breathtaking to watch, and you would swear she was floating. Bravo Alberta ballet!

I loved watching the Nutcracker ballet this past Thursday. Not only was it amazing to watch all the beautiful dancers, but the Alberta ballet and jubilee theatre made that day so special. My fiancé proposed to me that day! It wouldn't of been possible without them. We will always remember this day, and the help he received that day to make it possible.

Thank you!!

I love escaping to the Alberta Ballet with the beautiful and talented dancers. Always a perfect way to spend a few hours. Thank you to everyone involved making the shows happen - they are amazing.

Art is essential to a full enjoyable life ... art is all it's forms ...

Always well-done and refined. World-class. I can't even imagine a more pleasant venue than the Jubilee. The visiting troupes complement the programme instead of compete. After 10 years of annual subscription renewals I have worked my way 10 rows closer to the stage

User

Alberta Ballet is simply one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. The raw talent that the artists leave on stage time after time is mind blowing and emotional! They are the truest form of artists that I have ever seen!!! what an AMAZING company!!!

User

Alberta Ballet has the most amazing ticket sales staff. So helpful, friendly and willing to accommodate!

User

Absolutely wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed the performance (Sat. Matinee) in Calgary.

Thank you to all involved. What a sincere blessing it is to have seen, and have you represent " Our Canada" in the manner you did.

User

A must see! Alberta Ballet's performance of the three musketeers was amazing ... so was The Duke of Buckingham!!! ... Love you Nick! Congratulations to all the dancers for an outstanding spectacle! Bravo!

User

I'm from Calgary but was recently able to catch Fumbling towards Ecstasy in Escondido CA. Proud to be an Albertan.

User

I went and saw the nutcracker ballet, it was my 1st ever ballet it was beautiful. Unfortunately the second half I was distracted the whole time by a screaming baby, I really wish this show was +3. Otherwise it was fantastic.

User
