Officially founded in 1966, Alberta Ballet encompasses both a professional troupe of 30 classically trained performing artists, as well as one of the most prestigious Canadian dance institutions: the School of Alberta Ballet.

The Alberta Ballet has performed throughout the world, touring as far as Japan, while also delivering it's trademark performances to thousands of Albertans every season.

Recently, the Alberta Ballet has set a standard in cutting-edge contemporary ballet, with Artistic Director Jean Grand-Maître utilizing the music of popular modern artists such as Elton John, k. d. lang, and Sarah McLachlan to re-energize the world of ballet.
