Our Team: Founder and CEO - Award-winning cookbook author and travel writer, Karen Anderson founded Alberta Food Tours, Inc (AFT) in 2006. A former Nurse Practitioner, she left health care to get out in front of people's choices around food. Through the power of storytelling and connections AFT helps people learn how to source, grow and eat for better health and joy. With the solid why of improving the health of soil, food and people, Anderson has been able to adapt AFT through the pandemic, adding product lines and steering the company so much that AFT was the 2021 winner of an RBC Resilient business award. AFTs innovations include self-guided, interactive food tours and Alberta Cares Packages on top of their award-winning guided tours. Operations Manager - Since 2016, Callandra Caufield leads operations, coordinating bookings in 4 cities and managing up to 20 team members. She's been integral in our digital shopify store and self-guided food tour app development. Community Manager - Nicole Liboiron-Coles is the dynamite behind our engaging ways with social media and community and vendor relationship building. A talented photographer she's made it an artform. Tour leader team - Team retention is a stronghold of our business. Many of our guides have worked with us for over a decade . We hire for equity, diversity and inclusion. Guests! We are 2SLGBTQ + friendly and have tours that are differing ability accessible as well. We also work with our vendor partners to accommodate as many dietary allergies and restrictions as possible.
