Alberta Global Talent (AGT) is a team of Central Alberta Refugee Effort established in 2015 in Red Deer, Alberta. AGT is a business-minded program dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive Central Alberta by offering services to both employers and newcomers. AGT ensures employers leverage and optimize the skills and experience of internationally trained workers. We provide employers opportunities to connect with the qualified and experienced workers they need. Our tools and training support employers in the design and implementation of successful strategies for attraction, hiring, integration and retention of the right talent that helps improve the business bottom line. Through a variety of Employer Workshops, Lunch n' Learns, Mentorship Programs, Stakeholder Forums, customized to each employer's specific workforce and business needs we support each organization in building workforce capacity, achieving workplace diversity and inclusion and strengthening their business performance. AGT also offers newcomers to Central Alberta a mentorship program, a powerful employment strategy that connects skilled newcomers with the Canadian workforce through mentoring. Through this mentorship, mentees have an opportunity to expand their networking and job search strategies, become aware of the industry and job-specific information, and increase their chances of successful integration into the Canadian workplace.
