Amre Supply

I took apart my faucet and removed a dripping hot water ceramic cartridge few weeks ago to bring to the pros at Amre Supply to get them help me find a replacement part. Since I had no idea what brand the faucet was (it wasn’t shown clearly up top), the pro was nice and spent a few minutes looking online at their stock catalogue and then went to the parts area to try to find the part for me. Unfortunately at the end, I was told they didn’t have the part for me. I was feeling desperate as I really didn’t want to replace the whole faucet!
Well, lucky for me as I had planned to visit Plumbateria (a short drive away) as a backup plan in case Amre Supply didn’t have the part in stock. The pros at Plumbateria looked at my leaky ceramic cartridge and after a few minutes of looking around and trying to match it with their stock, I was told I actually have a Delta faucet (a common enough brand)! The Plumbateria pro was very helpful to this novice and spent some minutes to explain to me what I need to do (use vinegar and warm water to soak and remove the old stopper and put on the replacement) to correctly repair my faucet, and they sold me a replacement ceramic cartridge that works like a charm now.
I'm giving Amre Supply a 2 stars (out of 5) rating because of two reasons.
1) With Amre Supply’s info, I almost felt I had no choice but to replace my faucet when Plumbateria was able to help me identify the needed part, a Delta part thus saving me from a bigger job of replacing the faucet unnecessary! and
2) This may be the bigger reason for the “2” rating! The sad thing was I later confirmed online (once I knew it was Delta and had the part number) Amre Supply actually had TWO of this part in stock that morning!
I don’t know which is worse: not having a part in stock or having the part in stock and not knowing thus unable to sell it to a customer who needed it badly. Amre Supply missed a sale and I had to drive around town to look for the part. Luckily, I did find it eventually saving me from doing a bigger job.

Phoned to get a replacement part for our furnace and ended up having to phone their head office in Edmonton after two attempts with the store. The second guy claimed he's "the most knowledgeable person there", which is probably true, considering nobody here knew anything. The guy at the counter wouldn't answer any questions about the part but questioned why we ordered it through Edmonton. 99% sure they're not on commission so why do they even care who ordered it?

Beware, online orders can not be returned, only replaced. I tried to return broken item, but customer support talks only about "replace under warranty". When i told that I do not want to exchange, but return only, the customer support stopped communicating to me.

Had a Moen faucet hose that needed to be replaced. Home Depot guy couldn't help .... Lowe's person didn't even know what it was. Walked into Amre and Colin said "That's a Moen", got me the part and I walked out a happy customer. Highly recommended store and staff.

First salesman was rude and had no time for me. The second guy that helped was awesome. Had I gone to the second guy first probably 5 star.

Went to purchase a honeywell filter that is sold in packs of 2 (required to change a filter on one electronic cleaner). AMRE were taking the packs from Honeywell, splitting them up and selling the filters individually (with markup). SKU was identical.

I order hard to find light bulbs from here. I can find it easily on their website and pick it up in the store to get free shipping. These guys are super friendly too. The pick up is easy and fast. Thanks for carrying my bulbs, and for a better price than other online options too!

We got our GeneralAire watersaver humidifier here. They were the only store I could find in Calgary that had this top-rated humidifier. And it uses less than half the water of the average flow-through furnace humidifier. It's been working for 6 months now, the house is nicely humidified, and we don't have a ton of water running down the drain doing nothing. The people at AMRE were all great, very helpful and knowledgeable, and the prices were extremely reasonable. I now think of this store as "like Home Depot, but better", as they have a better selection, more knowledgeable staff, and equally good prices.

This place has tons of obscure parts for appliances. It's awesome.

Helped me with some electrical parts for my dryer. Excellent service and knowledgeable staff. Liked that they were open on Saturdays too. Will definitely recommend Amre.

Bought a fridge compressor. Great, it was a suitable part for me. Asked for a compressor tube adaptor and was told it could not be found. A part specific store like this should be able to find what I asked for and order it in.

Picked up my induction motor there for my pos furnace. The staff were very knowledgeable and I was on my way with the rebuild kit.
Although I didn't stop there with that purchase. They sell all sorts of stuff!!!! I walked out 1 hour and $1400 later. Exceptionally satisfied!!! I highly recommend this place if your a do it yourself
