Working with mixed metals, I make handcrafted unique pieces of jewelry that have an organic feel to them.

Andrea Lee Fraser Konowalec was born in Fredericton, raised in Vancouver, began her professional training while living in Toronto and then fell in love with an Edmontonian, which is where she and her family make their home.

Andrea has many callings: full-time mom, sign-language interpreter, devoted friend, artisan and craftsperson. All of these passions have influenced Andrea’s creativity, her constant innovation and evolution in both materials and design.

Describing Andrea’s jewelry designs is synonymous with describing Andrea herself: organic, innovative, timeless and eclectic – all with effortless style. Specializing in copper etching and hammering, Andrea combines science and art, playing with materials and processes to create layers and textures in her pieces. Inspired by nature and the people around her, Andrea upcycles materials such as plumbing and electrical ‘scrap’ metals and copper from pennies, incorporating the every day in to each unique, hand-made piece.

As a former starving student and current mom-on-a-budget, Andrea wants her pieces to be attainable for others like her: stay-at-home moms, students, professionals, and kids shopping for Mother’s Day presents. For Andrea, there is no greater reward than to see others wearing - and loving - her designs.
