Annie'S Cafe

About Annie'S Cafe

Annie's offers a selection of coffee, ice cream, baked goods, soups, sandwiches and more. Open seasonally. April to October

Annie'S Cafe Description

If you’re out for an afternoon run, bike ride or stroll around the pathways of Fish Creek Park, stop by the newly restored Annie’s Café, located just west of The Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant, to enjoy coffee, ice cream, baked goods, soups, sandwiches and more. Our offerings also include wheat-free and dairy-free options.

This quaint farmhouse was moved to its current spot in 1905 and once housed the ranch foremen and their families, including Billy Bannister and his wife, Annie. Today you can enjoy a wholesome lunch or a special treat while sitting on Annie’s sunny front porch.

Whatever the season, Annie’s beautiful surroundings make it the perfect place for a break, whether you’re going solo or with your whole family.

A new gem in the Artisan Gardens, an open air library where you can drop off or pick up a book to enjoy in these serene surroundings of Fish Creek Park ♥️

User

The only reason @erikaraexo goes biking. Can we blame her?🤔

This photo by Dana Pugh Photography would make just the perfect ad for Annie’s. We could not love it better 😁👌 A family affair.

Such a quaint little café. They have the best treats, soup and mac & cheese. My kids just love it there. We often bike there for ice cream on the weekends, and sit outside to enjoy the view of Fish Creek Park

Service is always excellent & friendly at Annie's

My absolute favourite little café! I don't know who loves it more... my husband and I who get coffee and yummy baked goods or my boys getting ice cream cones! Love love love it here!!!

User

Love this beautiful spot where there are plenty of spots to enjoy a drink, coffee, baked goods or meal inside or outdoors. Love it here!

User

Always the best ice cream in Southeast Calgary!!!!

User

We just had an ice cream but everyone we very kind.

User

Very quaint beautiful setting, love the atmosphere, could have a better selection of fresh baked goods.

User

Very good Cappucino, nice outdoors sitting area. The only thing that is missing : when is busy, servers need to pay more attention to clients orders and not " make funny faces " when a patron gets frustrated about their order. A new patron does not know, for ex, that you have nice ceramic jugs for the coffee. They should be asked if they like the coffee to stay, or to go... Common sense...otherwise, great place to enjoy the nice weather with a bunch of giod friends!

User

Love this place! So nice to stop for a drink while out and about. There have been some issues with the espresso machine which caused the quality of coffee to go waayyy down, but hopefully that had been resolved because the lattes were pretty good last year

Strawberry rhubarb pie is to die for.

My only complaint is that they close during winter! Please consider staying open on the weekends throughout the winter months so we can all come warm up over hot chocolate during snowy walks!

A perfect place to bring grandchildren, or a reward for a long cycle ride.

User

A great destination half-way through your walk/bike ride! Ice cream, snacks, and sandwiches I believe.

We stop at Annie's A LOT over the season as part of our biking trips around Fish Creek. Love the location, the renos, the extended season, the displays of local artists' works. The food is alright, but not brilliant, but we usually just have coffee anyway.

What I really don't like is the introduction of all that plastic packaging for food - it didn't used to be that way, and seems a real step backwards given the waste it generates (and recycling isn't really a great alternative - better to reduce the waste in the first place) I also think it would be great if using reusable mugs was the default, with throw away only being used when asked for.

User

More variety , like a croissant, sausage roll or fruit would be nice. Also maybe offer to warm up things like scones. Nice little spot though and friendly service.

User

Location was great. Ice cream was great, too. The food selection was very limited.

User

Ice cream was a little pricey, and selection was limited with some odd choices, but was just the ticket on a hot summer day mid-bike ride. What I was disappointed with is the fact that it is supposedly a bakery, but I could identify most of the "baked goods" as coming from Costco!!! I was hoping for and expecting fresh baked goods on site. It really can't call itself a bakery when it sells goods purchased elsewhere.

User

For Bakery they have a small selection of baked stuff. And I was temted to try their Polish sausage on crusty bun as was advertised, but it turned out they don't havy any crusty buns just ordinary. The ketchup container was apparently blocked because it was squatting anywgere but the hotdog.

User

Totally agreed with The comments regarding the baked goods. How does an establishment call themselves a bakery when most items are coming from"Costco" & then turning around & inflating prices. Ordered caramel latte; no caramel about it & chai tasted like steamed milk. In hinsite we should have returned them but were well on our walk. So very disappointed . Staff were not at all friendly here. For being connected to the bow valley grill I am appalled at the difference in staff. We won't be returning.

User

The renos are lovely and the food very good as well. I think the staff needs some enthusiasm and also needs to be more helpful. When I was there today, the server was quite short with some elderly women ahead of me. The dish of water for the dogs was filthy and full of mould. When I pointed this out, I was told I could clean it in the washroom. Don't have the bowl if you are too busy to clean it and fill it with clean water.
