Anzac - Willow Lake Kehte'Hiyak History Description

Once known as Willow Lake, Alberta. . . Anzac is located 50 kilometers SE of Fort McMurray. . . For several years Anzac hosted the Stony Mountain Radar site families, the Anzac Children's Dorm Facility and the CNR families. . . Some of which make up our residents today. . . For years Willow Lake was the main water source for the people of the Anzac Reserve and also the Community of Anzac itself. . . The people of these communities relied on this lake for all their survival needs. . . . Water, fish and wildlife were the essence of the First peoples who lived here. . . The Aboriginal people were not brought here from a foreign country and did not arrive here. . . they were put here by the Creator to enjoy the land and to use it for their livelihood. . . while keeping it healthy for the next generation!
