Another year, another great #MindBodySoul tournament. The St. Albert dojo has always had great Jiu-Jitsu competitors but I was also very proud to field four competitors for kickboxing, all of whom did a great job! I was busy reffing most of the day so unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of my own but here are some I collected last night from friends, family and teammates:

T-Minus 47 minutes until submission wrestling at Arashi-Do St. Albert! Tonight we'll be going over some fundamentals of the butterfly guard. If you like no-gi and don't know your way around this guard then you'll want to be there, only $10 to drop in for students from other Arashi-Do schools!

A rare sighting of 20-year old, 167lb, beardless and red-and-blonde-fauxhawk'd Professor Tyson waiting to get a stripe on his blue belt! It also looks as though he'd accidentally put his gi in the dryer.
I talk about BJJ as a lifetime pursuit quite often but it really hits home when I see a picture like this and realize that I only just barely remember life without it. See you tonight for no-gi!!!

The video is only 5 years old but great to see almost all those kids still on the mats: https://youtu.be/GVoiqxy8ai0

Found this gif of one of my cats losing his mind at the bottom of the stairs and couldn't resist meme-ing it. See you all in class tonight!

This evening we had the honour of hosting Khru Yai Chris Bonde and Khru Phu Chwy Mike Yackulic for gradings in our Tiny Thaigers, Junior Muay Thai and Adult Muay Thai programs all in one night! It's special to get these two gentlemen in the same room with their busy schedules so it was great for the students to benefit from their knowledge and experience. We're going through a ton of photos and will post more but here are a few right away!
