Always fun to have the adults helping out the Juniors. Paying it forward

My son competes at the jiu jitsu tournaments that are held at Arashi Do, as well as the larger scale tournaments put on by Arashi Do and Professor Mike, they are well run and a lot of fun, the staff are always super pleasant and the Arashi Do North gym is clean and very well put together. Thankyou for an awesome tourney yesterday Mike, and thank you for your commitment to evolving Jiu Jitsu in our community with your awesome Tournaments! Looking forward to the December 10th chapter of the Submission Series. Job well done sir, and thankyou for making our visit to your facility enjoyable! Maybe next year there will be a teen division Championship belt :)?

User

Love it! Class is always different and I've never had a bad experience! Everyone's friendly here.

User

Incredible, focused instruction. I learnt so much at this place, many years ago, it's great to see so many of the wonderful instructors are still at it!

User

If you are looking for a place to train Martial Arts and feel like home, come here. Professor Mike is a person who cares about you. He dedicates his life to help people and that is what this gym is about.

I've been training at Arashi Do just over a year. Before starting Muay Thai, I never really enjoyed sports. Growing up I was always picked last, benched first, and never genuinely felt like I was "good" at anything sports related. Muay Thai has boosted my confidence exceptionally. My balance, strength, and overall fitness goals have gone from extinct to one of the most important things in my life - don't get me wrong, the first few months I wanted to give up, but as do all great things, it takes hard work. The instructors here really care about their students, as do fellow classmates. You're not only getting active and learning a new skill, you're also meeting great people of all ages.

I've been lucky enough to know the Arashi Do family for the past four years. My husband, Tyson, has been training with Professor Mike for ten years now and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been a major aspect of his life. I don't train in martial arts due to a back injury but rest assured the moment I am able to I will happily join the Arashi Do team. In the meantime, I am a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu wife and I love being a part of the Arashi Do family. You see, that is what Arashi Do is, a family.

I had the opportunity to work behind the desk for a summer just to help Mike out. During that time, I got the see the culture that makes up Arashi Do North. All the students and parents are great people! I don't recall a single person I met there who was rude or treated anyone with anything else other than respect. The kids all love the instructors and when they walk through the door they are excited to be there. The parents all stand around watching the kids and sharing a laugh together. A lot of these families have been bringing their children together for years and you can tell how much they enjoy each other's company. More importantly, they welcome new families and students with kindness and make them feel welcomed.

Since being introduced to Arashi Do I have made many new friends who have become a big part of our lives. The people who train on those mats are good solid people with a variety of personalities that make up a rich culture. An Arashi Do North Christmas party is one the most exciting and enjoyable evenings you can have. I look forward to it every year because it is a laugh riot of pure childlike wonder (there aren’t any kids at this party haha).

The quality of instruction at Arashi Do North is impeccable and I can tell you first-hand how much the instructors care about their students. Last year there was a group of thirty of us who travelled to Brazil to compete in an international tournament. During the months leading up to the tournament Mike took the time to develop individual training programs for each student going to Brazil (kids, teenagers, and adults). The passion Mike put into each program was evident. As the main instructor, Mike understands each of his student’s strengths and weaknesses. He developed specific training charts for each student so they can work on what they were strong at and what they needed improvement on. Mike encourages his students to be their best and to be happy with what their best is. He goes above and beyond for his students because he truly loves what he does and cares that each student leaves the mats feeling good about themselves.

Passion is the foundation of Arashi Do. Attending a gathering of the Arashi Do management I have witness hours of passionate conversation. School owners are continuously working on making their school the best it can be. At the core of each discussion is how to make the experience better for the students. Each school’s success is dependent upon the students’ satisfaction with the quality of the instruction. There isn’t a decision made that doesn’t consider what is best for the people who train there. School owners understand their success is because of the students who have chosen to train with them. As such, they are dedicated to providing the best possible instruction they can.

Class is always stimulating for strength training, but as well as using your brain while improving your coordination. Very much like a family environment, and I look forward to my classes every week. I can feel and see the results :)
