What a lovely place! Great people in a great town. Real character pub, restaurant, and hotel! I would recomend any one to stay here.
Thanks guys! Had another great stay!
Always a pleasure staying at the Astoria in beautiful Jasper.
Really enjoyed my stay. Rooms have been updated very tastefully. Very friendly staff. Great location. The attached restaurant has great food. Highly recommended.
New renos were lovely and cozy. Nice Staff and got the best service. I will definitely stay again at this beautiful hotel.
Love the hotel, close to everything and very friendly staff. Pub is cozy and great restaurant attached. Looking forward to my next stay!!!!
I loved my stay here! The rooms were cozy and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect to get to all that Jasper has to offer. Would stay here again!
I love the quaint, home feeling of the Astoria. The sense that history is walking the halls with you. Beautiful place and friendly as well! Yes, it is under renovations...but at no time did we feel hindered by that...in fact, the front desk (Pauline and your staff Petra & Evelyn) did their utmost to ensure we were well taken care of. The renos are coming along fabulously and in no way takes away from the warm ambiance of the hotel. Am excited to experience the completed project one day...kudos to all the staff of a job well done.
Highly recomended, tell Blair I sent you
Great, quaint and loved the new renovations. Papa George's restaurant has the best breakfast in town too!
Good food and good vibes at both Pappa George's restaurant and the Ded Dog pub!
Brilliant hotel have stayed 7 times wonderful staff great pub and restaurant attached. Can not wait to go back
.
Best staff in town!!! ♡ Great restraunt, great pub, great view!! Overall very nice.
train lovers paradise - if you are lucky to be in the front rooms looking onto the train lines. i loved seeing the Rocky Mountaineer arrive and depart. and I could see the the animals wandering too from my room. lucky to be in a front room with a view.
Just another review from a friend of Oliver's. I give 4 stars because I have never stayed in one of the hotel rooms, but I did help with the renos. I do though spend my fair share of time at the D'ed Dog. As a local it's the place to be on a Friday night and the best burger deal in town. Papa George's restaurant has amazing food and the chef is a serious soup wizard. Can you let me know next time the seafood stew is the soup of the day? I'd like to bring a bucket to fill.
I used to hang out with Oliver regularly until the renos started at the Astoria because he's been there every single day and night trying to get the rooms ready for the summer. He's poured his heart and soul and all his time and energy into that place. So no, I don't think his response was the best choice of words, but how would you feel if you put so much effort into something just to have someone rip it to pieces on a Facebook rant because the colours weren't to their fancy? And really.. a piece of painters tape got someone fired up? I wonder if they kindly told the staff there was still a piece of tape left in one of the rooms that needed to come down, or did they just go straight to Facebook to release their dragon fire about the horrible piece of tape. Horrible piece of tape #2 on the hallway carpet. Which is the next faze of the reno's. Relax, it will be gone soon. The place is still currently under construction. I think the key to visiting Jasper is breath in the fresh mountain air, exhale, RELAX. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Be incredibly grateful that we are at liberty to visit towns we want and stay in hotels, because there a lot of places in the world people don't have that privilege. If you're not satisfied with your stay, inform the managers in a kind manner so that they can do their best to improve everyone's stay that comes after.
What you are guarantee to get from your stay at the Astoria is a family run business who will take the time to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Did you not get fresh water glasses one day? Call the front desk. They'll be sure to help you
Goede centrale ligging. Rustige kamers met heerlijke bedden. Airco eenvoudig te regelen. Kleine maar handige badkamer.
Fantastic value. Central Jasper. Great food and entertainment in the pub below.......free 4 star breakfast in the AM.
Bien sans plus
Considering its having renos and we stayed in an 'updated' room it's very poorly done, the king size bed was two twins pushed together, the bathroom is tinier than a restaurant bathroom stall. The colour on the walls is a horrible shade of brown/ yellow and masking tape was still left on the AC unit the carpet outside in the hall was ductaped and there was open cracks in woodwork the updating was the TV ( but if your in Jasper your not sitting watching tv you are out exploring or getting ready to go out I'd of put the Reno funds elsewhere). Housekeeping didn't replenish the coffee for following day or clean the cups, Pay the extra and go elsewhere.
Too noisy on the alley side with constantly running generator (?) even loud with windows closed
Not worth the price!
