About ATS Accounting Inc.

Sean Senthuran is the owner and founder of Edmonton, Alberta-based ATS Accounting, Inc. His team provides tax preparation, bookkeeping, QuickBooks consulting, and business startup services to individuals and small businesses in Alberta that aren’t ready to put a full time accountant on their payroll. Sean enjoys working with small businesses to help them improve their profitability. His service orientation complements his team’s detail orientation.

Sean works with numerous businesses in the services sector, including IT consultants, professional services firms, health care professionals, restaurants, contractors, personal service businesses, and startups, to name a few. Recent projects include helping a company negotiate and settle a payroll debt with the CRA, increasing profits for a landscaper through job costing, and improving a monthly reporting system for a coaching company.

Prior to starting ATS Accounting Inc. in 2009, Sean worked for nine years in public accounting firms, including positions with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, one of the top four accounting firms in the world. He earned a BBA degree in Accounting from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. After work, you might find him relaxing with his family, practice martial arts moves in a TaeKwonDo class, or running in a 5K race.


The story behind the logo:

I would like to share a personal experience that I feel relates to the decision to choose the right professional to guide you. Recently I, along with a couple of friends, and our children spent a summer day at Lake Sylvan in Alberta. We decided to charter a boat to explore the waters, and I had enjoyed the lake a few times before this outing, looking forward to showing my friends and kids a good time.



Once well out onto the lake, in typical Alberta fashion, the weather rapidly changed from pleasant to harsh. We began to get pelted by a forceful hailstorm and strong winds buffeted our watercraft. My friends on board became afraid, and with low visibility, gave conflicting directions to me as to the shore, increasingly panicked by the childrens fear and screams. It was a terrifying time.




My instincts took over, having been the most experienced on the lake, and the leader of the boating trip, and I sensed safety was in yet a different direction from each of the opinions of my amateur guides. I circled in my chosen direction an applied the throttle, while calming everyone by reassuring them that I knew where to head. Sure enough, shortly we saw the outline of a lighthouse in the distance, followed by the sight of our dock. We safely made it to shore to everyone's relief, including the boat rental outfit, who had feared for our safety.
