Avenue Carpentry Description

After building a 55 year career of professional carpentry, it is time for Dave to take carpentry back to it's roots.

Dave Brulotte has always had a heart for the pioneer era of Canada. He salutes the early settlers that shaped this land and their homes out of the surrounding wilderness.

Dave's art is derived from basic needs for furniture and household furnishings as seen in those times. The raw materials needed were cut on or near the home site and the style was dictated out of necessity and function not fashion.

Tools were limited to saws, planes, augers and glue. There were no nails, metal screws, or hardware found in their pieces and there is none to be found in Dave's. All stools, benches, stands etc, are fitted and glued as well as finished with three or more coats of lacquer or urethane.

All pieces of wood are from Edmonton and the surrounding area. Many pieces of wood have been aged 15 + years. The art pieces are made by hand at his home, or in the Glen Ronald Gallery.

Dave can make custom pieces, upon request, using many different kinds of wood, shapes, and colors.

Come by the Glen Ronald Gallery today to meet Dave and see the collection, or feel free to call /email us directly!
