We have been looking forward to this week for so long! It’s @makeitshow Calgary week! Whoop! Whoop! Who wants a set of passes to the show? Tell us your favourite use for B&C Food Wraps below and who you’d bring to the show. Contest closes at noon tomorrow (Dec 4, 18) and we will draw by random draw before 6pm.

It’s a busy little workshop over here. We feel a lot like elves so we have decided to share some holiday cheer. For the month of Dec buy anything in the store and get 50% off of a package of small wraps. It’s a small way to say thank you for choosing us.
Applies only to online purchases from our website. Limit of 1 per order. Does not apply at markets or retail locations.

So many wraps. All. Of. The. Wraps. If you’ve been patiently waiting the website has been restocked.
That’s all there is until after Make It! The Handmade Revolution which is happening Dec 6-9 at Deerfoot Centre in Calgary!

User

These short November days are not working with us. We had hoped for a website restock announcement today but the lack of light means lack of product photos required to post the stock. Keep an eye out tomorrow and we will have them up for all your Beeswax & Cotton Food Wrap needs!
Don’t forget a portion of every purchase is being donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities Central Alberta until Nov 30!

When you give the gift of hand made you are giving a one in a million gift. So many people are getting that one in a million this year. Edmonton you are top notch! It was so nice to see so many of you today at the Make It! The Handmade Revolution If you haven’t made it down yet that’s ok. You have one chance left to swing in and grab a set of Beeswax & Cotton Food Wraps or one of the many other one in a million gifts. We will be in booth 908 from 11-5 tomorrow for your last chance to pick a set up in person.

You know that old saying, ‘If you love us tell your friends. If we’ve messed up tell us.’ In today’s instant world it couldn’t be more true. We recently sent a customer the wrong order, actually we sent two customers the wrong orders. Their packages were addressed wrong and they each received the other’s order. They could have blasted us on line about our incompetent shipping practices, they could have told all of their friends how we didn’t send them the correct order, they ...could have accepted what they got and carried on with life, they could have even used it as an excuse to stop buying local or handmade.
But here’s the thing. Had this person chosen any of those options we never would have known we had made a mistake. We wouldn’t have had the opportunity to correct that mistake. A relationship, or in this case two relationships wouldn’t have had the opportunity to grow because we didn’t know they needed attention. By one of those customers speaking up and approaching the situation with grace we were able to figure out what went wrong and where. But most importantly we were able to fix two peoples orders and dare I say please two people.
When someone in your life makes a mistake, I dare you to treat it with grace. To always choose kindness. That doesn’t mean not acknowledging the mistake, that won’t fix it, and chances are they’re unaware of the mistake. It means if your expectations have not been met then please stand up and say something directly to the person who was to meet those expectations. Do it with kindness and grace. I promise you will feel much better for it. Every single one of us makes mistakes.
I’m grateful for customers who feel comfortable letting us know when we mess up and allowing us the opportunity to learn and correct.

Rainy Sunday afternoons require popcorn and a movie. I am not a big movie person, I’d rather a good book or podcast. The kids however would watch How To Tame Your Dragon on repeat if you let them. Are you movie people? What’s a movie you never tire of watching? Maybe you’ve started the Christmas movie theme in your house.

Fun on a Saturday morning.
isavirtue hit a homerun crafting these tiny little stamps for us. When you have a logo as intricate as ours that’s no easy feat.

Is there a knitter on your shopping list? There is one and only one of these available in the shop right now!
The shop has been restocked. Be quick that’s all there is until after Make It Edmonton. (And some are all ready sold out. 😬) If you received a discount code from Little Deer Market now is the time to go use it.
Don’t forget we are donating 11% from each purchase to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Central Alberta

How do you do snow days?
We are spending the morning at the library. This is our favourite outing, the littles love the books and crafts and I love the uninterrupted hour to get emails and other non making work done. Do you take advantage of all your Public Library has to offer?

Have you planted your packaging? We would love to see photos of your wildflowers from the summer if you did. Tag us so we can see your flowers. We have switched to Basil seeds in our bands for the winter, simply put the paper in a pot with soil and water and you can grow Basil in your window. It’s our way of saying thank you for supporting us and keeping packaging waste to a minimum.
Don’t forget about the 1000 followers give away happening on Instagram. We will do the same over here if we make it to 1000.

Dark roast? Medium? Blonde? Mascara? Fake eyelashes? ... What combination are you?
I have been a dark roast pour over with mascara for a long long time. But I’ve been cheating on my mascara lately with some Glue-Free Falsies Shhhhhh don’t tell. Either way I’ve got a strong cup and my lashes are on point and I am ready to rock this day.
Don’t forget about our giveaway happening if you need to know what’s going on, read yesterday’s post.

The post market crash is real y’all. We are absolutely blown away by everyone that came out to support small and hand made this weekend.
The Red Willow Market in support of the St. Albert Seniors Association on Saturday was a beautiful Christmas wonder land with over 2000 people through the door.
The Little Deer Market in Red Deer yesterday was a stunning event filled with the best of the best of Makers and entrepreneurs. If you were lucky enough to attend you participated... in an incredible market.
It was unbelievable to see all of you that came out to support small and local at both events. We are so humbled and beyond thankful that you choose to support us.
Today will be spend in a euphoric post market haze with smiles plastered across our faces while we enjoy a day with family. Tomorrow it’s back to the crazy season of market prep.

Are you in the ‘Remember when we used to go out on Friday nights’ camp or the ‘Bacardio’ Camp? My butt is firmly placed in the staying in camp. Friday’s are essentially my Sunday night, as we gear up for markets and all kinds of fun festivities on the weekends. I do fondly recall those Bacardio Friday nights with people who mean the world to me but I also am totally in favour of stretchy pants messy ponytails and a glass of wine at home. What are your Friday plans friends?

Holy cow you guys. We just realized that sometime in the last few days we’ve surpassed the 1000 followers mark on Instagram. I wanted to take a moment to say thank you so very much for embracing and supporting us. We truly appreciate each and everyone of you that have bought from us or shared our product with others. If you don’t follow us on Instagram or if you do hop over there and tell us which you would rather, a giveaway or a coupon code? We will sort something out for a giveaway or discount code and put it up over there next week.
I wonder if we can hit 1000 over here? We can if you tell your friends about us!

These things are awesome - they’re designed to replace single use plastic wrap. Once they’ve reached their lifetime of use, they’re fully compostable, and the packaging is plantable wildflower seed paper! Plus, they’re just pretty.

Love this product !

I received my first order today. I just ordered the small pack because I wasn't sure what to expect, but I love them! They are the perfect size for the small stuff like half an onion or lemon or cheese :) They even arrive in an eco-friendly envelope!! All so perfect!

User

I love, love, love these wraps! I was able to put banana bread in a container and get it to work without squishing it with a lid. The wrap stayed on the container and bread was perfect.

User

I just started using my wraps and LOVE them. They are affordable and I love that they are reusable and even the packaging is thoughtful. I also love that I am creating less waste and supporting a local business. Yaaay!

User

I just purchased the starter pack and I just love them! I’m going to need more!! They came very quickly and I love that they came in eco packaging. I highly recommend them.
