Being Me - Muslimah Empowered Calgary Description
The role of the Being ME conference is to provide:
A platform set to highlight the successes and achievements of Muslim women from
around the globe that have benefited and continue to benefit humanity at large
-A place to share, explore and inspire many towards activism that would lead to positive change.
- A place that provides a sense of belonging and acceptance of ideas and aspirations that lead to enhancing the lives of all those around us.
-A place to showcase how the Mercy Mission organization is pursuing the vision of the Final Messenger Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Here is a little about Sr. Yasmeen Rolland is an international speaker who was born and raised in America as a Missionary Baptist, and her father was a Deacon. She embraced Islam 17 years ago in her senior year of study for her BS. in Business Admin/Marketing after travel abroad to a Muslim country opened her heart and mind to Islam and removed the misconceptions she had about Islam and Muslims based upon Western Media.
Currently, she is the National Representative for Islamic Online University and strives to "Change the Nation through Education" by promoting a revival of seeking Islamic knowledge, on a middle path, as our Prophet Peace be upon him advised. She resides in Dallas, Texas.

Mashaa'Allah this is such a phenomenal conference - the BIGGEST Muslim conference in Western Canada! I learned so much alhamdulillah. Some gems from the conference: "Our pain has a purpose...Don't underestimate your resilience - the resilience with which Allah created you...When the sahabas saw a person in hardship, heartache, or pain, they thought of the aakhirah. As our beloved Prophet (SAW) said: Everyone's reward is equal to the hardship they suffer...Heal your pain by helping others." (Dunia Shoaib)
I was blessed to be a speaker at Being ME Calgary 2018. The warmth, sincerity, and hospitality of these sisters is unparalleled. I feel so humbled. Alhamdulillah I had a fantastic time! :) <3
