Babies, babies and more babies!!! I checked the nests this morning and Precious actually has 10 little kits! Charmin kindled last night and has 6 very fat kits! I'm hoping they will be great mom's and we will have a high survival rate ππ°ππ°
Happy Mother's day to all the wonderful mamas out there!!! We've been busy around here, prepping gardens and building the new greenhouse. Today is a very busy and special though because not only do I have chicks hatching today, but also Precious and Charmin are due today!!! Precious kindled last night and has 9 healthy little kits and we are still waiting on Charmin. π£ππππ
Set a custom hatch of silkie eggs for someone this morning! Added a few of my eggs to fill the tray and make sure my roo is doing his job. Can't wait for hatch day, I love silkie chicks ππ£
3 weeks old and the award for cutest ugly stage goes to Five Toes!! The sizzle bantam π€£ look at the curl on those feathers!
When I bought the Buck Hut, to strip down and remodel, it came with a free gift. This is Bun-Bun. Jordyn is raising him as a pet since he doesn't fit into my breeding plan. He has quite the personality and is shockingly very friendly. So far he's made a great house bunny!
πI'd like to introduce you to my new breeding trio of standard Rex rabbitsπ° I'm so excited to be starting this new adventure!!!
Over Easter break I've been working on some big projects. We're adding rabbits to the farm!!! ππ°π Hutches are all set up except for shingles and paint which will have to wait for some warmer weather. Picking up my breeding trio tomorrow!
Our brooder cage looks a little different this time around. A few weeks ago I read this very informative article about a Mama heatpad brooder. It's considered a more natural way to brood your little fluffs. Since young kids and heat lamps aren't a good combo (we are now sporting a nice melted area on our rug in front of the brooder π’) I wanted to try this alternative. Brooder heaters are expensive but this one is budget friendly and simple to make. The chicks are loving it so far and so are we! If you want to check it out the link is π
