This place is great.

The food is quite good - I’ve had the fish and chips and the veggie burger. Both were great.

Nice beer selection.

Stage for live music - which I have yet to experience, but it’s a real stage and performance area that looks like the start of a good time.

Pinball. Yup. That’s why I found the place. Over half a dozen tables and a great variety.

The staff are always friendly and attentive too.

Pretty much an all-around winning place! (Wish I could say the same about my pinball playing)

The staff were so friendly and helpful! Nice to have a little east coast hospitality the band was awesome! Loved that they played all night and took requests!!

I had a very happy birthday!

The best in Calgary. The atmosphere is great and with the multiple levels it creates contrast to a great night of live music on the dance floor or just go up and get away for a bit with friends.

Such a great place to enjoy live music and great food. The owner, management, and staff are amazing and go above and beyond to make the Trap and Gill a fun experience for everyone. I love the East Coast vibe at the Trap, I feel like it's Calgary's home base for East Coasters living here in the West. Check it out!

So much to love about the Trap and Gill! The food for starters is really good! The menu is diverse. You can find your pub fare, but you can also find delicious confort food and healthy salads to accommodate everyone's tastes. As a venue, I have attended and hosted events there! I have been to the trivia nights, comedy night, a paint nite and a clothing swap there, and all of these events were well accommodated in this space. I also run a monthly meetup group to talk about ecommerce, and the big long tables accommodated everyone being able to sit together to discuss our businesses. And everyone appreciates the free parking. All in all, this is a great place to hang out with friends, share a meal and some drinks, and also a large, diverse venue for events!

If you are a hungry man, ask for the double burger with an egg. I don't remember its real name, but you won't regret it. It is fabulous!!!

I recently had a birthday celebration with about 35 friends. Everyone loved the ambiance, the great music, food and especially our server - Shay - who kept every food and drink order (and bill) straight while smiling and keeping drinks filled up the entire time. Thank you so much for a memorable night. We'll be back!!

I have been there a ton of times and always had an amazing experience! Great music, staff, food, and service. It is hard to believe the below posts that were all made within the same few hours are true. As always, never take what you read on the Internet with face value. If you have never been be sure to check the Trap out and make your own judgement!

I always have fun and am treated very well by all of the friendly staff. Great fun dancing to the various artists on the Open Mic Jam night and I love the Nova Scotiables. Good old East coast friendly pub. ;) <3

Great atmosphere with fantastic music, definitely the place to go if you're looking for a fun, upbeat night! The service is excellent, especially the server Elsa who we always get to wait on us whenever we're there. She always provides great and consistent service, all while making us feel at home and treating us like family, which makes me look forward to visiting even more! Definitely a five star review as I cannot recommend this place enough for a night out on the town.

User

Always great service! We brought our dragon boat team every week after practice to enjoy the patio or inside. Always good fast service and Ice cold drinks.

Thursday wing nights are great with the live music.. It's a fun place , relaxing and staff are so friendly.. We will be back :)

The quality of the food was very good, I think the portion size is too small for the price we paid.

Myself and my wife visit the trap a few times a year and are quite pleased with the service, hospitality and great food this establishment has to offer. The food was great except the portion size isn’t quite big enough for the money. We had fish and chips they can throw on a few extra chips for for the amount of money this will cost. This will not deter us from visiting the Trap again in the near future.

User

Fun place, great food, nice staff. As a new customer, Mark really made us feel welcome. Recommended yummy food too... lobster & bacon poutine. Can't get much more indulgent than that!

This was my first experience of Paint Nite. In fact, I have not held a paint brush to paint a picture since I was in grade school; over 60 years ago. I didn't have a very good position in the room as I needed to be able to see the step by step instructions up close. It was meant to be fun and casual but there was silence in the room as everyone seemed to be concentrating on making a perfect painting. Our host Eloisa, did her best to make us relax and have fun; I don't know that she could have done anything more I think most of those in the session had been to other painting sessions and had now become ambitious. Considering the serious participants our instructor remained cheerful and upbeat and did a great job. I look forward to returning to more of these enjoyable evenings.

It was a great experience to be surrounded by sober people. The band, the food and fellowship was spectacular. It was going well until the fire alarms went off, lol:) Sober Calgarians should open up a sober club, with like the Trap n' Gill:)

Waitress was awesome, on the ball , very attentive.....

Nova scotiables were entertaining

Fish and chips sucked.....

Well the chips were ok, fish was highliner haddock ..(my opinion.) ..and batter was gluey
